Thread: Cripling shot vs. Burst 1, 2, and FullAutoSingle2
Since like 15 people decided to immediatly derail the other thread about this with talk about guns and their DPS/damage type/AP value I wanted to reopen this question.
I have notice that Cripling shot does not do much more damage than burst shot. It also tends to do less damage than FAS2. I do understand that it USED to hit for over7x daamgewith a decent lasser carbine, in the past. But, recently I have not seen it get over 4x, and typicaly is aorund 2-3x damage.
Questions: Was there a stealth nerf on Cripling shot? What is its advantage over BS1 & 2, FAS2, seeing as both of those have status change effects and do pretty much the same damage (as of the last week or so). DEVs, did you nerf one of our specials, and didn't even bother to fix the broken ones (FAS2, FAA1, FAA2 still have no dizzy effect)?
The modifiers people say are just from experimenting with them, shoot 1000 crippling shots and you have a pretty good idea what your max damage with it, then divide that by your weapons max damage, and you have the approximate modifier.
There was also some list of modifiers on swgcenter, but the damage ones at least werent accurate at all, not sure where they came from
I am concerned that things like BS1 and BS2 do that same damage when they are 2 levels arpart on the tree. I gave up climbing the carbine tree until I see a fix so I haven't tried crippling shot.
Don't use a Laser carbine to test. The range of damage on them is ~200 which will give you a spread of 1500. Use a more consistant carbine like the DXR6.
