Yeah I'm not liking the idea of making Riflemen the FOTM again. You do realize that there are only two major professions in PvP right? Riflemen and Jedi? Do you think your so-called "solution" fixes that?

(This idea is more radical then my progun politics)
OK, here is an idea to make weapons situational and get rid of the hatred between the 3 ranged elite professions.......
1- We turn all Pistol/Carbine/Rifle accuracy mods into Gen accuracy mods.
2- We only have a limited amount of certed weapons: all Heavy Weapons(Also they keep Heavy Weapon mods), because that is the point of commando and only 1 or 2 for each elite profession(We leave the Hybrid Classes certs alone, that is theirs not ours to play with).
3- We rename the 3 elite professions. Rifleman-> Sniper, Pistoleer-> Gunslinger, and Carbineer-> Mercinary.
4- We define weapons like this:
Rifles while standing deal 50% damage and have a range of 45m, 75% while kneeling, and while prone deal 100% full damage and have a range of 70m(Sorry I gotta push it damit!!!! I am the Mad Rifleman). Rifles also deal 20% more damage while prone then Carbs or Pistols do.
Carbines are the only weapon class besides melee weapons and Heavys to deal elemental damage. 50% of their damage is Kenetic or Energy and 50% elemental, their range will be 50m. Their elemental and Kenetic damage together will equal that of a pistols damage.
Pistols are the regular weapon, they deal as much damage as a carb but are either Kenetic or Energy. They have a range of 50m like carbs also.
With this set up, there can be no complaints. We are no longer weapon defined professions and each weapon class has their own role( Heavy Weapons will Keep their AOE and will be 100% elemental Damage, also they will be just 10% less damaging then rifles are prone).
Us Riflemen can't itch because we can use a carbine or pistol when needed, you pistoleers can't complain because pistols are just as strong as carbines, and carbineers make out like badits. This what the dev's should have done to begin with in the CU, throw out all weapon based professions titles.
(Ofcourse Accuracy will have to be adjusted with this proposal but this is better then the crap we got now)

Yes.
Rifles become a situational weapon that all 3 professions use(DAM, You got burned!). Rifles are now only effective while prone. The 3 major elite professions can now all use rifles at the same effectiveness. The 3 major elite profession can use all weapons at the same effectiveness.
So a current Master Carbineer/Pistoleer/4-0-0-0 Doc will use a rifle as effectively as a Current Master Rifleman/BH. Also a Current Master Rifleman/Carbineer/4-0-0-0 Doc could just as effectively weild a pistol.
Pistols and Carbines in this system are the main weapons to be used. Rifles would only be used to:
A) Ambush someone with cover.
B) Nuke a rooted target.
For all other stuations you would want to use a carbine or a pistol.
This idea takes away Rifles FOTM Status, explain to me how it does diffrent..............

How bout we do this, We leave the game to the DEVs since they are the ones that can fix it and we stay out of what we want since its never gonna happen. Hows that?

all depends on your playing style
i personally love the way weapons are setup now
it actually gives people debate on what type of gun to use
especially if you're involved in group pvp
