I cannot decide whether to be a master carbineer BH or a master rifleman BH. I never really did like rifles but everyone says it does more damage. Anyone who has played both post CU and picked carbineer please tell me why you like it better.

I do not want to be some uber punisher character but would like to be able to hold my own in pvp and maybe kill a jedi now and then thanks for any help.

As far as I know pistoleer is the only ranged root (maybe the only one) in the game - with stopping shot. As a MBH/MCarbineer I didn't go the way of stopping shot because my pistoleer buds said with improved stopping shot it just wont stick enough against higher end content. I'm managing fine without it and did try it pre-cu but I like having some SL much better.

Smuggler and Pistoleer are the only profs with a root shot along with CM having Paralyze.

And the smuggler root now breaks on damage. It is still a 40 second root at master. Now it is a mez instead of a root though, as the target cannot do anything for that 40 seconds or until hit by another attack.

Will DoTs break the mez (concussion shot)?

1) DOTS do break mez, because they do damage. The only things that will not break a mez are states.
2) Paralyze certainly does root your target in one place! I don't think all the Jedi I've fought have just stood there while I got out of range just because they felt like it. Maybe they appear to move because of lag, but they should not be able to do so.

I've shot crippling shot just fine from 50m, and activated improved stopping shot and crippling shot at the same time too. I don't know what you talking about.

You know, it's possible to have Master Bounty Hunter, Master Carbineer, and enough pistoleer to have improved stopping shot, hehehehe. My character is a MBH,Master Carbineer,Pistoleer 0/0/0/3,Marksman 0/4/4/4, Scout 4/0/0/0, Medic 0/0/2/0. I also have a shirt with +15 Healing Efficiency to make up for the lack in medic. I say you would be fine with this template .

P.S. Some Aakuan rings wouldn't hurt either.

Well to be critical heh...paralise is not a root you can move just fine with it on just cant take any actions.

Isent there a mele root though? Pikeman or someone...And i thought jedi had one also.

If by root you mean hold them in one spot wile you shoot the crap out of em i think its just pistoleer and maby jedi?

We do have the best snare in the game with cripple shot though...The cm electrolite is the only snare that slows more for longer but you got to get close to put it on....And put both on anything. It cant possably catch you unless you want it to : )

Isent there a mele root though? Pikeman or someone...And i thought jedi had one also. Melee root? Not that I'm aware of. Jedi have Stasis at Master Enhancer, 40 secs I believe, breaks on damage.

If by root you mean hold them in one spot wile you shoot the crap out of em i think its just pistoleer and maby jedi? Roots were never meant to last while damaging, they're all supposed to break on damage. Most were just bugged, not sure if all are now working as intended.

2xxx enhancer gets a nice root. xxx1 enhancer gets a snare. xxx3 enhancer gets a very nice snare.

you are correct about the master enhancer getting a 40 sec stasis. This breaks on damage. The root and snare for a jedi do not.

most jedi therefore havea snare and/or a root as it's the only way to get close to a BH in the open if you don't have force run and the BH has burst run food.
