Thread: What is it that I should be doing?

Any advice on what specials I should be using as a level 17 0100 Carbineer, 3044 Marksman, 0400 Medic, 4000 Scout? I've been playing around with the specials and couldn't come up with anything truly viable that would allow me to kill the level 15 mission mobs I was put up against. Crippling shot never did work. Leg shot didn't seem to work. Overcharge didn't work. Is there a certain order I need to be kicking off my specials? Do I absolutely need a group at these low levels? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

My basic idea of attackng is to use your rapid fire, and leg shot, alternatly, comboing them, maximizing damage done, while having placed shot on auto fire, for your level at least, and if anything comes to close, give em a whack with firearmstrike, gives you a few secs to run away, and at the time theyre knocked down, toss a legshot in. or, you can use cripling shot right as they go down, the specials do work, for overcharge shot, you cant move, as there is a warmup timer for it. although i dont recomend using it.

oh yeah.

if you were thinking that leg shot does damage to action now, it doesnt, it has damage bonus but an accuracy penalty, and, if you see some one, in pvp with no leg armor, hit em the leg with it for full damagge, (not likely that that will happen however), crippling shot also snares the enemy, (think lecapine dart trap at novice scout) it is very handy for running away from mobs

if you have anymore questions just ask

Thanks! I'll try those out tonight. I thought I had Placed Shot on Auto and was using Rapid Fire and Crippling Shot with the occassional Leg Shot on my last attempt. By far it was my most successful attempt except that Crippling Shot was resisted every time. I'll give it another try tonight.

From my testing (which is a bit old from TC-EP3, not LIVE), CripplingShot does not work in PvE.

Thanks, TA. I did not know that about Crippling Shot. I've been trying to keep as up-to-date as possible by reading the CU threads but I don't recall ever seeing that mentioned. Much appreciated. I do believe that while I was using it I was still using Action so, perhaps, that will give me enough Action to actually win some fights.

A very brief test on Bria last night made me think Crippling Shot does apply a Snare and the Snare does work.

I was level 74 fighting a level 76 yellow con enraged rancor. Chargeshot, Leg Shot, Crippling Shot (which did 'appear' to make them advance on me much slower. Was not a focused test though),TorsoShot for a bleed, Eye Shot for theblind, then alternating Leg Shots/Critical Shots. It was actually really fun; I was unarmored with no medic and it was a damn close battle. I managed to take outthe whole lairby using terrain to carefully pick off the MOBs one at a time, almost dying against each rancor It was damn cool knowing I *gasp* used tactics to kill something!

I justwish they would've balanced everything before they pushed it live...Just like everything else they've ever done, the CU has so much potential, but it has beenimplemented so very badly
