Thread: Best Default Attack ?

I assumed because it started in the Basic Marksman tree it wasn't exactly a Special.

I have been using improved leg shot as the default, seems to do good damage and has no cool down time, also I never run out of action with this running in the background.
Then sprinke in your state and high hitting shots where required... works for me.

Yeah, been doing some PvE this evening.
I'm currently using Ranged Shot as a default. I'm a Master Carbineer, BH 0244 and was having good results using Cripple Shot as an opener (that realy seems to stick), Improved Underhand for a knockdown and Improved Confusion shot for states, keeping my target off balance and far away for as long as possible. Torso shot for a bleed, then staggering Improved Leg shot and Advanced Rapid Fire around my default to keep the action cost under control. If the Snare from Cripple dropped, I just fired it backup again. I didn't bother with Eye shot as Ronto's don't have a ranged attack and they weren't getting close enough to me long enough to do much damage.
If I was up against ranged oponents I'd be more inclined touse Eyeshot and cycle Improved Underhand or Charge Shot in more frequently and forget about Confusion shot.
I can see each special has a use, Improved Legshot against targets with just upper body arnour etc which I think is more than can be said of some of the specials pre CU
I might Try setting Improved Legshot as the default, all I'm looking for is a basic attack with a reasonable damage to cost ratio that I can stagger between other specials to keep my pool under control.
If anyone has any opinions about my specials use, please let me know. I'm new to Carbines and would happily accept any constructive criticism from more experienced users.
