If i can get some advice guys...

Right now I have Nov Carbineer and about 6 skillpoints. I'd like to at least get up to level 30 (i'm 15 now) eventually but cant do much until i decidehow much merchant i can drop.

I'm not concerned with PvP just want to be able to handle myself against mid level PVE enemies and be able to hold my own whensurveying/maintaining harvestersand be a little helpful in when i'm huntingwith my guildies.

Pre CU i had only nov carbineer and some Carbine Speed and Accuracy skill tapes probably around 4-6 points each. and I could do ok solo as long as there weren't more than 2-3 mid level enemies attacking me at the same time.

Which line in carbines would be best for meto dabble in?On test I had 0220 and Nov BH it seemed coolbut I didn't get to test it out very much.

Would i be better off using the 6 points for Nov BH now so that at least I can wear composite? What will that bring my combat level to?

Is there a way to calculate combat level?

Damn i miss my Laser Carbine!

I would like to know too pls.

Similar boat, I am Master Tailor, Merchant, Marksman 1344 and Nov - Carbineer

I admit most of my time is taken up with clothing orders, but I do like to kick back sometimes and go off blasting things with a couple m8's

These days post CU I dont even know which carbine I should be buying, or as above how to find out my current combat level.

If someone has the answer it would be great, else I reckon i will respec to swordie, like back in the old days

Thanks guys

Mirth

hmm im a master WS - master carbineer -1004 merchant - level 54 char - works very well - once you have your vendors in place you can safely drop the first 3 tiers of merchant and not lose anything!

i would recomend the speed tre in carbineer 4xxx first - seems to be the most useful as the area attack there is what crbineers are most useful for...

I guess you dont have surveying with that template?

if you drop the first 3 tiers of Merchant are you still on the planetary and overhead maps?

Wont the area attack specials cause you to agro more than you can handle if you're solo and only dabbling?

just 4040 artizan - but i have force sensitive survey

yes you do keep the benefits of merchant even if you drop

eg planetary map still works - until you move the vendor or it runs out of stock and vocalisation still works nd they keep on the clothes you gave them... you just cant CHANGE them again without merchant skills

true the area attack might draw more thenyou need - but as a carbineer dabbler you wont be hunting solo much - this would be very beneficial in group hunts... either way 1 complete tree gives more combat levels for less SP than spliting yourself over 2-3 trees
