I have 12 skill points left with novice carbine. what tree should I advance in?

If I were you I would get a pet to tank for PvE and get the special ability line so 0003. This gives you charge shot and full auto area 2( which is great for mobs if you pet is keeping them at bay. I havent had a pet post patch and assume they still take aggro.
Otherwise go 0030 and get defence bonus and burst shot 2.
