Carbineer Archive
Thread: i've seen alot of this and it is just not true
ok ok i know most people on the forums think that tka is ub3r and unstoppable and all, but i am trying to get a few things across to the people on the boards. about tka....
advantages: self buffing (max 550 to ham)
healing wound ability
good all around damage dealer
disadvantages: no bleeds. currently one of the ONLY combat classes without a bleed, if not the only
max armor piercing is ap1 (a tka soloing a krayts heavy armor is absolutely rediculous, with uh3 we'd be doing literally like 66 damage a pop
melee! i don't see how u can lose to a tka unless u are being fairly stupid (i have dueled people who will go prone at 60m and than let me run at them and beat them) we are MELEE all u have to do is run awawy from us while using chargeshot!
plz don't flame me i'm trying to make a point. i used to be a carbineer also. i understand that stuff doesn't work but don't call for nerfs on tka because it works
evade, melee and ranged defences are far too high across the board, the self-buffing, self-wound healing are powerful.
I agree you might not be able to Solo Krayts, but I dont think Krayts are supposed to be solo'd.
I hold the game up for PvE before worrying about PvP and find fencer/tka to be a little ott compared to carbineer. I'm not saying they shouldnt be - I'm always going to argue for the other professions to be elevated to similar standards.
lol... TKAs try to kite me. Unfortunately there's charge shot.

Hehe Ive Dueled a TKA at 2m, he was dead before he got to hit me, then again im dabbling in BH for Fire KD ![]()

Im a Master TK and just started crabine cause I was tired of getting kited. I plan on mastering carbine now and having alot of fun.
The point he was making is that TKA is not the all mighty and powerfull. With good armor it is excellent for PvE. But for PvP....unless i can get within 20m of a target...I have NO chance (unless i burst run).
So just remember before you talk about TKA being over powerd...realize that a nov marksman keeping 25+m away at all times will eventually kill me.
But not now that im 0/2/0/3 in carbineer![]()
One more thing...our defenses dont seem to work for me. I always get hit![]()
TKAs are devastating in close quarters. if a TKA gets close enough, yer dead. happens to me every so often, even with chargeshot. I've learned never to start a duel with a TKA at 15m.
if i start out further away tho, i can kite a TKA brilliantly. unless they burstrun, in which case not so brilliantly.
Im going to agree here, TKA isnt the be all end allin the gameits just that the majority of people develope their opinions of TKA's being unstoppable monsters from duels inside cities (with confined room to manouvre) and PVE where the AI leaves something to be desired.. Get a TKA at range in the great outdoors, good luck to them. Yes they are devastating up close, but your a fool if you let them just waltz right up to you. If you are any form of Ranged combantant use your range! and dont get goaded into duelling them at 15m thats dbl advantage for them, not your ideal range and definitely within the TKA's.
Dont get me wrong, They are still one of the strongest classes in the game and they make a welcome addition to any group Im in. But Like anything I think that certain classes were understood faster then others and hence played more often. Other classes have "hidden" talents that are just starting to be unlocked that counter the current Trend in PvP, Duels and PVE.
but that, as they say is just my opinion.
