I thought of Age of Empires when I read this but that wouldn't fit this game actually.

Note however.


Area Of Effect (AOE) indicates the damage is anchored on a target (PBAOE = point blank area of effect) and effects a radius around that target.


In reference to Carbine specials, however:


There is no AOE. Our moves are in a "COE" (cone of effect). The point of the cone being you, then expands / widens fro mthat point. So yeah, that cone is technically an aoe, but not necessarily in the tradition most people are familiar with.
