Thread: Moving on from Carbineer...

The day has come where I've dropped Carbineer completely. A couple months ago I toyed with my template, but never dropped Carbineer more than 4/2/0/4 so remastering was a day's work...

But recently, a few of my RL friends have joined the game. And I like hunting with them, part of it is that I want to be able to grind with them. Cause as Master Carbineer, even using low-weapons with low speed and damage at Master Level still kills things.

It's not the twisted PvP nature, or frustration that made me drop it. Nor is it I'm trying to be an FOTM (not doing rifles, fencer, or CM) but I'm going to toy around with things. I've been a Carbineer for 9 months, since I saw a guildie have a "Mercenary" title, and saw him fight, and knew immediately Carbineer would be perfect for back when I was a CM.

I'll admit, I've grown slightly bored with things, but that's the advantage of SWG, I can drop a profession, and if I miss it enough I can relearn it. For now I'm on to Pistols with my RL friends. (two true newbies, who actually think Chitin armor is the best heaviest armor cause of how it looks, hehe)

I know there's a lot of stress to be "loyal to one profession," but right now I need to be loyal to my shrinking pocket book, and get as much experience and fun from this game as I can.

You've all been great! Firehawk me and you seem to butt heads, while seeing things the same, just in a different way. Novamarine you've reigned me in, I know I can get fiesty in defense of Carbines, Doq you're my Eclipse Carbineer! hoo-hah!

On Eclipse I've become so outspoken as a Carbineer, I was called "The Last Carbineer," because I PvP'd with anyone, fought any dungeon...and never gave up. Nor am I giving up now...I just want to see what else sparks my interest. I've always wanted to try Smuggler (I'm a Han Solo fan, who isn't) so pistols would go well with Smuggler. I've always been totally combat oriented, (CM, Carbineer, Swordsman, TKA...) I'm kinda curious to see what the other side is like.

Hope you all continue to fight the good fight. I'm gonna lurk here cause my alt on another server uses Carbines, but my main toon is "testing the waters," I hope everyone can stay the course, and continue fighting for the profession that kept me in SWG, and won me over in SWG.

...*is starting to have a major case of buyers remorse for switching...*

You will be greatly missed....

And we only butt heads in the interest of the "better good" known as Carbineer

Thankfully I have 3 accounts that I can experience all that SWG has to offer, otherwise even I would be bored with Carbineer and SWG in general. I have mastered all but 10 in the game and some multiple times as well.

So don't feel bad for wanting to explore and help some NOOBs

I also moved on from Carbineer just a few days ago, I just couldnt see enough to maintain it after five months. I will truly miss the group KD though, that moves was just hilarious to watch. MAybe if they give the profession a new weapon or a few new moves or something, I will come back and do it again.

Best of luck to you all!!

/salute to all carbineers

I've been playing since beta and I *still* choose Chitin over any other armor when fighting Kinetic damaging critters.

I've never posted here but I've read most of the threads in my persuit of Master Carbineer. Your input will be missed!

Not to hijack this thread, but you actually have Chitin that is better than 74%-78% Ubese???? Very curious indeed.....

Well.... you and I have already talked about this in detail ingame so I will certainly not try to convince you otherwise. For the record I think you'll be back after the combat pass.

I'll kill ya in game later... (jk for those that think I may be flaming.)

Oh heck no! I had a nice set of 78% Ubese but I lost the jacket and pants due to a bad repair while on Dantooine. I wear my Chitin because I like to look different than 30% of the server (the other 69% wearing various versions of Composite). My chitin is only 38% kinetic but it works just fine.

I'm shocked. I thought you would never go down. However I certainly understand your reasons and you will have more fun with your friends this way. I'msure you'll always be known as a Carbineer here and on Eclipse. I bet you come sooner or later (you know you love it). At least until then I'll have one less person to bid against. Best of luck with pistols, maybe you'll get to duel weild, that would pretty cool.
