Thread: Got my tapes now a weapon
Argh.. sorry not sure what happened there!
I'm now on the hunt for a couple of decent carbines. My aim is to be able to do fullauto2 and crippleshot at or near speed cap, which I think means I need carbine speed as close to 2.6 as possible.
What should I be looking for? One Elite and one laser, sliced and powered up to have max possible damage at 2.6? I realise there are guides already but being able to use carbines so fast will change things somewhat I think.
Id recommend getting 2 of each gun. This way you have a better chance at getting a damage slice. As far as laser or elite, I would go with the elite if you pvp or the laser if you would be using it for pve more. E11's are always a good choice too![]()
Id look for something krayted, although these can be costly they are often worth the extra credits. And if you can get your hands on some Form Fitted Stocks, those make for superb weapons![]()
Speed: 1.7
Min Dam: 99
Max Dam: 265
and of course the wonderful DOT Bleed
i was lucky enough to get a damage slice on this carbine (only 25% but it could have been worse) which got it to some nice damage levels. tested it out in last nights pvp and it rocked. nothing better than sticking bleed after bleed on CMs
i dont remember exactly the specs of the last elite i got from him because i rarely use the elite but i believe the min damage was somewhere around 180-190 pre slice. also i have quite a few used carbines that just sit in my house, if your on a budget contact me (ireu) in game and ill set you up.
180-190 sounds like the max dmg...
min dmg on elites range from 100-110 or thereabouts, that's w/out stock.
add a crafted stock and the speed should be around 3.7-3.9...still w/in your cap.
form-fitted stock wouldn't get as high dmg as the crafted stock...but i think they tend to be more accurate, and definately lower HAM (they add none).
what i'd suggest since you're at +90speed (master marksman as well right?), would be to just use form-fitted & advanced scoped carbines. the stocks aren't all that expensive...'bout 75k-100k/carbine on most servers i believe. damage slices would makeveryaccurate weapons w/ decent damage & reasonable HAM cost.
or you could always use the krayt/stocked carbines, which at +85speed is a must...using -.4 to -.5 tissue & a form-fitted stock elites/lasers reach that magical 2.6speed to cap. however...since your only concern is the damage, krayt tissue won't be a massive help...+80max tissue will only add +32 after mitigation (+16avg)...easily worth the creds if it also drops the speed enough to increase your dps by 20-30%, but not w/ just the damage.
what you might consider doing...is dropping master marksman. you will have to invest in krayt/ff-stocked carbines to cap speed w/ damage slices, but you'd free up ALOT of skillpoints. basicallytrading skill points for credits, if you have enough to obtain a handful of quality krayt carbines, i'd say go for it...freeing up 48 skill points is considerable in this game.
as far as e11's...you probably know this already, but don't waste your time w/ them. you've got too much speed to be using something w/ that low damage & quick speed. good dps...but not when you easily cap the higher dmg weapons.

Thanks Nova, I did have a read before posting. I guess my situation is a little different to the FAQ example as I have the +25 speed so I can tradeoff higher speed against higher damage.
Unfortunately on our server there doesn't appear to be a lot of great Elite carbines around at the moment
best I've seen is approx. 100 min - 180 max (before PU and slice)
I'm Master Commando at the moment, so I can't drop Marksman - I don't think I want to drop it but I had great fun killing quenkers last night with my 90-500 laser carbineso anything is possible ![]()
Just need a good Elite. I'm waiting for one of the good weaponsmiths on our server to get back to me, I will try and get a few Elites made and get as high a damage slice as possible.. then if necessary, ensure the speed is equal to or less than 4.0 using a powerup, and then powerup min dmg - should be great fun!
