Ok someone explain to me why this is the best damage attack in pvp. Ive not played much since the carbineer revamp to really play around with it much. But I keep hearing that it goes right through mitigation defenses and right through dodge, block, and counter attack. Can someone confirm this?

I didn't test this with dodge, block, or counterattack...... or mitigation. The report I heard was multi-pool Specials ignoring Armor, which ScatterShot2 does not.

The reason ScatterShot2 is suggested for PvP is that it hits Mind more frequently than any other Special.....that is it, sorry.

I've heard this too, tried testing it this weekend and it did hit like a hammer. But my targets were unbuffed, so it was hard to really get a lock on how powerful the shots really were.

A few were masterTKAstackers and pretty muchevery shot I fired landed,so there could be something to it bypassing defenses.

Normally, I'm hardpressed to land adecent hit on aTKA with FAS2 or BurstShot, but then these are armored and buffed fighters, so its still a hard call.

I can confirm from personal expirence that it does rip straight through dodge, block, and counterattack about 99% of the time. I thought it was 100%, but fighting a fencer the other he managed to 'evade' 1 of about20 of my scatter blasts. That was the only time I saw it dodged, countered, or blocked.

Now wait a minute, check the Combat Logs.....you should find the FIRST pool hit getting the full effect of defenses and food, but the remaining TWO hits go through with no resistance except armor % resist.

And this needs to be done against a buffed opponent to get in enough shots before they go incap

And I believe somebody else tested the Mitigation part, but these are the first reports of bypassing the Profession Defenses. I will have two Master Carbineers shortly that can duel each other so I can be on both sides of the fight to see what really goes on....

I think the confusion comes from the fact there is a Fencer special called something like scatter hit and it is bugged and goes through armor like butter. People confuse this with carbineer scattershot.

And so does scatter 2 from carbineer and Combo 2 from TK. The multi pool attacks are bugged and bypassing defenses. A guildmate of mine and I got buffed and tested this. She ate synthasteak and her log actually said your defensive modifiers stopped 0 damage. She is melee, master of TK Fencer and a large part of swords if not all. Hitting her with full auto 2 had significantly less effect than scatter 2. Same with the TK and Fencer attacks. Had all three of these attacks well before this bug arose.

is it really a bug or just part of the unique functionality of scatter attacks? truly, they are weird moves that seem to have their own rules. for example, the fencer scatterattack ive tried on lairs does very, very little damage. almost none. seems they cant really damage lairs effectively. i havent tested the carbineer scatter though. anyone else know if it, too, cannot damage lairs very well?

ScatterShot1/2 do NOT ignore Armor Resistance as the reports on the Fencer Special.

ScatterShot1/2 also says in the Combat Log that it does 1 damage.....do you believe that like you believe the Synthsteak report of 0 damage?

I like the pretty colors that scattershot2 makes over the heads of people and mobs. I have noticed something rather "odd" about scattershot though. Anyone else ever notice that it seems to hit the "lowest" ham bar more often? Now, it could simply be me having delusions (go ahead TA get me on that one. hehe) but it seems to happen more often than not.

I wish I had MORE delusions of grandeur like that in PvP
