Thread: Help out a Veteran Master Carbineer

Been master for at least 6 months or so, and I'm pretty good. Can hold my own in PvP, with buffs, and I'm a pretty good support player. No BH carbines, thats sacralige.

I've been getting less and less from PvP and more and more into RP, and on my server, Buffing for RP is prohibited in most circles, So i'm having some trouble keeping my Master of a profesion from being beat down by novice brawlers, because of the HAM costs. I have a Krayt laser (450, 2.6) with High HAM(76 action) and a Low ham(45 action) laser (400 2.6). Both are pupped. To be truthful, using the High HAM one just gets me beaten faster than the other, and there aren't any other good Low-HAM carbines out there. Elites are horrible when at low HAM, and substat buffs are easily seen when people realize you're famous for killing yourself then suddenly perfectly fine.

The sad this is, I'm Master Carb/Master Swords/Pistoleer techniques. I have 220 Counterattck. I'm pretty hard to KD, intimidate, and hit. While I'm easier to hit than a Fencer/TKM, I despise FOTMers so I tried something unique, and it works to an extent, but My Power Hammer eats my health and my carbines eat my action, I've had a Brawler 0200 beat me. Not cool. If it werent for the HAM costs, i'd literally rarely lose a battle, because i'm pretty damned hard to hit or Dizzy KD, and I'm a veteran pvper, so I know what i'm doing. I have medic 2200, so i'm healing like crazy but barely damaging the opponent that way, healing every 2 shots. My dizzies wear off by the time I can use charge shot.

Any ideas? Is there food i can take while keeping my brandy/Canape that boosts my HAM by a crapload? I dump down 2 vercupti and a pixie and I'm still out of HAM by the 7th shot., Argh. Help please? suggestions, tips? I'm the cheif of police of my Roleplay city, and I dont want to get a new template, and a lot of the asshats in town dont have the integrety I do and most are TKM or FOTMers, and Its annoying. I'd be able to deal with them if it wasn't for the HAM costs.

Doctor Buffs are probably your best bet.

But unbuffed here is my best solution. There is a drink similar to brandy for action called Accargram (spelling?) that has a similar effect, PH also have a very high health cost, so a 33% Health Cost PU would put a large dent in the health costs. http://www.gamekast.com/swg/foodtables.htmllists food stats, but they are non BE'd, i have no idea how to modify them, but at least it would give you a basis for going to a Chef for a custom order.

Hey Koth-shra

Don't use a Krayt Laser bro.. stick to unstocked Laser Carbines or even something with less HAM costs like a DH17. Get a sweet custom krayt one made if you can.. I'm pretty sure Mira would love to help ya out (she's an ex-Carbineer and I get her to craft all my carbines.. she could probably experiment a DH17 precisely for low HAM costs.)

Accaragm and Garrmorl (sp?) are two great drinks that give ~+400 to all 3 Health and all 3 Action stats.. but they'll take up your brandy slots. You may also want to look into Breath of Heaven. It has a high filling, but it hits the right secondary stats.

That said, I think I still have a crate of some good ol' fashioned Rhyscate (best pre-nerf food for HAM costs). It's yours, free of charge (need to get rid of it.) It boosts Str/Quick/Focus for about 500 and has low filling, and is perfect for unbuffed Carb RP PvP.

seeing as Doc buffs are out you got a couple of approaches.

Buff the secondaries that denote HAM usage using food/drink

Buff everything using food/drink.

The best way is of course to mix it up.

Gruvaan Shaal - Strength , Scrimpi - Quickness , Ahrisa - Focus (All foods) - Buff Secondaries

Garrmorl -Health , Accargam - Action , Vasarian Brandy - Mind (All drink) - Buff All

There are other choices, like canapes, but they do not last more than the filling. These all last 35-45 mins if good.

1 scrimpi will last you 45 mins and serverly reduce the ACTION cost of your weapon. Even if its not 0, it can be low enough to make it managable.

Of course, the foods depends on play style and tactics of fellow combatants. IF they head hit alot you are gonna need more mind fodder. If you don't mind could you let me know what sort of stuff you end up using?

Novice Medic....that is how I do it. And of course I switch to my low-HAM Krayt Enhanced E11 or Krayt DH17 too.

Another food you may want to try is Breath of Heaven. Off the top of my head I think it boosts quickness in the range of 400 - 600 depending on who makes it. An extra 500 points can make a huge differenceon the effect of HAM costs. The downsides are that it has a filling in the low 70's usually andlast about 8 minutes.
