Hello brothers and sisters of the carb....I hope things are well....

From my reading and research...I believe, once again, I am missing out on something.....posture changing while dizzy. Can someone explain to me the deal with this. I have tried posture changing targets using Action Shots or Suppression Shots and usually it says I can not change the posture of my targets.

But it is also my understanding that if a dizzy is laid down on a target and you posture change them....they going into the "can't get up" thing when they try to stand up. Is this right?

Anyway, if this is wrong or right...can someone explain this tactic better to me so I can use it on my targets.

Thanks

Tactics... I'm not sure i saw anything on the FAQ concerning this, but it's kind of a normal thing so i guess it might just have been assumed everyone knew how to do it...

When you apply a dizzy state to someone, then posture them down, assuming you're successful, when they try to posture themselves back UP (or if they're postured up by the rifleman special flushingshot) then they have a chance to fall. I'm not sure exactly what resistance it uses, i belive it's Defense vs Knockdown, but i don't know for certain.. i do know it doesn't always work, and they have a chance to be able to stand normally even while still dizzy. Whenever you apply a knockdown or posturedown to someone, it starts a timer during which they can't be affected by the attack. It's a seprate timer for both posture down and knockdown attacks.

In practice, i usually use Fullautosingle2 on a target until they're dizzy. As a BH i could use FireKnockdown to apply dizzy and kd at the same time, but the landing of the dizzy state isn't reliable enough for me, so i usually apply it seprately. Then I'll try to either knock them down using FireKD (against single targets) or chargeshot2 against groups, OR posture down using the actionshots. Either way, the flopping fish scene doesn't begin until they try to get up.

Of special note: You can NOT just hotkey six knockdowns and hope for one of them to land if your target is resisting them. If you fire a kd OR pd at a prone target they're immediately returned to a standing state with no chance to fall irregardless of dizzy or not. So you could hotkey a nice mix of fullautosingles and cripples to get the dizzy/stun set, then drop your KD or PD's slowly and individually, watching for the system message that tells you it failed. If you don't get that message, irregardless of what their posture icon is, launch into your directed attacks you want to hit them with while they're prone. For me that usually means a nice mix of cripple/scatter. But focusing on a single ham would work well too (ie actionshot2 or 3).

Not exactly. As a Master Carbineer, you have a few posture downs, the most popular being SuppressionFire2 and ActionShot2.

When a target is dizzied, any forcedposture UP will cause them to flop back down like a fish. You can apply a dizzy using FullAuto and use ActionShot2 on them, and assuming it works, all they will do is kneel.

As long as they don't "stand", they will stay kneeling (while dizzied), and that's pretty much the end of that. Some players, however, naturally have the urge to /stand when they are kneeling (because kneeling increases the damage you take and makes you more vulnerable to flat-out knockdowns), at which point, they fall back down.

We mainly use "posture downs" in two cases.

A) After dizzing a target and KDs don't seem to work (maybe they have high defense vs. KD), we can try a posture down. At this point, we hope they stand up by themselves by accident and flop back down.

B) We want to progressively KD a target with high knockdown defense, so we stun/dizzy them, posture-down them so they are kneeling.. and once they are, we follow up with ChargeShot, etc. Targets that are kneeling are easier to knockdown.

Hope this helps.
