Sound like a good idea? Master fencer/master carbineer, and the remainder on tka? anyone done this?

I'm thinking of switching to this from master fencer/master doc cause it uses up too many skill points. How does carbineer work on it's own in pvp?

already done it. works great in a duel as long as they aren't a CM. but if you're gonna pvp you're gonna either have to burst run away and meditate off your poison/disease or just die with your group...master carb/master doc is the best combo for pvp i've had yet and i'm pretty sure i've had almost every carbineer combo

/center ...be patient. kite people into close range...dizzy/kd and whale on them...if you stay /centered you'll RARELY get hit. read some of the other posts before commiting to carbineer. if you're wanting to "pwn" don't look at carbineer unless you're gonna wanna work hard at it

Unfortunately, the way things work now... you might not get hit that much as a centered fencer by regular blows, but area poisons/diseases andbleeds seem to land on you just as easily as they would a new player with novice skills. I don't think that's right, and I hope it changes.

yeah but he's a master doc so he can just cure the poison/disease...it's sad that being a doctor is nearly a must in pvp now

My Current Template is as follows

Master Carbineer

Master Swordsman

4404 TKA

If you are willing to go without Doctor, you will need Ranged and Melee mitigation. If you go with Doctor, you will have no melee. If you don't mind running...alot...this may suit you. But you will find that you really don't do that much damage VS many other Professions.

I Have found Carbineer/Swordsman to be very effective.

I fought a Novice Rifleman and a Master Rifleman/Master Combat medic recently. Jumped in a Imp base by surprise, I thought I was dead for sure. The results, abbreviated are as follows

I get mind diseased

I get mind poisoned

I take 4 headshots frm the master rifleman/CM

I Dizzy,stun Blind the CM/Rifleman

I use Chargeshot2 to knock them both down

I mind disease the CM (HA!) with my gamorean Ax

I Mind Wound and Mind Bleed the CM with my scythe

While the CM pauses to launch another disease/poison I Bash what is left of his brains out with my Powerhammer.

All this time, the Novice rifleman has been shooting me like crazy, landing nothing due to all the ranged def, and counter I have.

CM is dead, I chase the Nov rifleman for about 3 mins(using a enhanced e11-healthbleed- and action bleeds the whole trip), stopping only once to meditate the disease and poison, then chase him until I land another Dizzy knockdown and bash his brains out. (he tried to hide in some red cons, but the bleeds popped up above his head and I found him anyway)

I should point out that if it were not for Canapes and brandy, I probably would have gimped myself using special attacks since I had a mind and poison tick on me at first.

If I am against a melee, I fullauto them like crazy and let them chase me for a while, when they are in range, I KD2 them with TK and bash their brains out with the Sword of choice. Warcry or intimidate are unexpected attacks from a carbineer who has been kiting you for 2 mins, really throws the enemies game plan off.

All in all, I really like carbineer/Swordsman for PVP

PVE, I kinda hate it. High end mobs are seemingly immune to status attacks and heavy armor makes my carbine puny and worthless. Sword is all that gets me past a Night sister.

If we had a carbine with heavy armor piercing, carbineneer would be a whole different and better profession.

I think Master Carbineer/Master Fencer/TKA 4004 really helps me out. I've never PvP'd with it before, but being able to meditate away disease/poison, as well as getting a temporary mini-buff with powerboost, really keeps me fighting longer. I don't do much damage, but I do hit and i do land multiple states. Currently, I can cause a health bleed, dizzy, and blind with Fencer, and I can cause action bleed, dizzy, stun, KD, and posture change with Carbineer. Combined with the fact that powerboost can boost my mind 400+ points along with any existing brandy buffs, can allow me to keeping spamming Fencer moves with little negligable HAM costs.
