So I was planning on going Master Carbineer / MBH / Brawler right. Well I was working up the pistols line using a scatter pistol and it got me thinking. I remember liking pistols. So I briefly thought about dropping a couple lines of carbineer and getting a couple lines of pistoleer, but I convinced myself how cool the Master Carbineer tag was and how proud I was to counterattack 3 out of 15 jedi attacks when he destroyed me hard. However, yesterday someone gave me a 360 max Geo Blaster (W/o powerup).
I was working with the Character builder and came up with MBH/ Carbineer 0404 / Pistoleer 0340 / Novice Brawler. Really I'd keep almost everything carbineer except all counterattack, burstshot2, 20 acc (I'd still have 205), 10 while moving, scattershot2, and most importantly the uniqueness of killing someone with the Master Carbineer tag. But really pistols can be fun. I used to be MBH / Carbineer 0300 / Pistoleer 0020 before I went Mcarbineer / BH 3400 and I enjoyed landing all the states with carbines and then swithing to a nice Geo Sonic to blast away the mind. I'd get up to 150 Pistol Acc, stoppingshot, geo cert, and 50 def vs KD.
I figure if I did this template then I'd mostly use carbine specials (A combo of Sprayshot and Crippleshot) against defensive stackers maybe switching to a scatter to set them on fire with toroshot and switching back to carbs. Then against those pesky doctors or really anyone with a weak mind pool I'd use Carbines to land states and posture downs then switch to pistols to spam eyeshot.
To cover the 5 second switch timer I'd use warcry1 right before I switched weapons.
What do you guys think? Should I drop the master carbineer tag and its prestige to gain a few more weapon options?

From a Carbineer perspective of course I don't like the idea.....
But from a general/BH perspective.....I think this is the real power of the BH options. Master BH and Master Carbineer sound nice, but dabbling in Pistols and Carbines is the way to go for a MBH.
Although I haven't ever used SprayShot, I would dabble in BH too and pickup some more defenses if possible. Of course each person's play style is different and goals in the game different, but I see nothing wrong with your logic here.

I actually laugh at MBH's dedication to Carbines.. because they're honestly not making the use of their pistols.
The MBH/M. Carbineer template to me sounds like a ridiculous waste of SP and is downright overkill, especially in light of how weapon speeds and accuracy modifiers (a sort of law of diminishing returns the more you get) will come about soon enough.
If you want to be a Bounty Hunter, then keep MBH. They're getting a lot of love right now, and will get more, so that's definitely something to keep.
However, that.. what is it, 115 carbine speed? 225 Accuracy? Heh, do we even know if it helps that much? Folks... hitting 9/10 or even 8/10 times instead of 10/10 times is good enough for me, because I can invest that 80+ SP in something that's actually viable in PvP or PvE.
Drop carbines - I think the standard 4040 or 0304 or 0403 (heck, you know this, it's only been the second most asked question on these forums since launch *grins*) is more than enough, especially with MBH in mind.
Invest in Pistols, if that's your thing. Or Pharmacology 4 - using Stim Ds (and maybe even Es if the Docs on your server are l33t) gives you an instant full reheal within seconds.. which is nothing to laugh at.
Going all out 'pure' Carbineer is admirable. In the last few days, I've sported my Master Carbineer title just for kicks, and I can't walk into Coronet or Theed without getting about 2-3 tells from people requiring training. Our numbers are growing, which is always good. The more that are sensitized to our issues means the larger voice we will get, and maybe... just maybe.. more 'fixes' and 'updates' for us will come about.
Still, 90% of them are going MBH/M.Carbs.. and I can't help but point them otherwise. It's nice, sure, and it's fun.. but it's a one-trackmindedness where Elders and Krayts will make quick paste out you and your Slugthrower, and where any PvP melee build will eat you alive, and then start working on you.. heh.
