Right now I'm 4/4/2/2
And still havnt not found anything worthy of being a Carbineer. I'm still pretty new to carbineer and I am just grinding it out but why would anyone keep this profession. So far to me it seems that it sucks in pvp and pve.

go be a pistoleer for a while. Then you'll appreciate Carbineer. I'm a novice and I already do as much damage as 1/0/4/3 pistoleer with the Dirty Fighting tree from smuggler. I'm lovin' Carbineer.

It might help if you could better describe the issues you have with carbineer. High HAM cost? Low attack speeds? 90%-100% resists to carbine damage types in high-end PvE? These issues are well known to the correspondent and veterans of the carbineer forum, and I am sure that they will be dealt with in time. In the mean time, we carbineers have two things going for us. One, we have a great forum where intelligent discussions on the way to be the best carbineer arecommonplace. Two, we have ahost of working specials that each have their place in combat (I have had to adapt to use two different toolbars to accomodate).

Carbineer isn't for everyone, nor does everyone meet the carbineer prereqs (/snicker).
If you want a profession that is fun, challenging, and ultimately rewarding... A profession that requires strategey and planning to succeed, then carbineer is for you.
If you just want a profession with an "I win button" to mash repeatedly, then you are in the wrong profession.

you just about hit it on the nose. But like I said I am just grinding through it to finish up getting all my badges. I guess I am just spoiled. Im used to grinding though a profession in 1-2 days other then BH which took me a week. I find carbineer slow and even low dmging at a high level with so called uber carbines. I cant see the benifit for carbineer in pvp or pve. For those of you sticking though it waiting for carbineer to get fixed I dont know how you do it.
Thanks for feed back.

I do it because I love the weapons and I rather like having to think before I act... this is why I don't fight with buffs or armour most of the time... I have to fight like each is my last, and I love it

Depends on what you consider worthless. There are a host of posture changes and stat changes available to us. When used in the right way you can clean house. The big challenge is ham costs (unbuffed) and speed. Otherwise carbines are capable of some terrific damage in pve. In pvp the combat medic is going to have that one irregardless.

Carbineers cannot button mash a single special to victory. We were given Posture Downs, Knock Downs and States for a reason. When implemented properly, the right combination of state and posture attacks will make an enemy sufficiently vulnerable to a Carbineer to put them down.
As a Master Carbineer alone, I killed Stormtroopers by the hundreds per hour in the Crackdown cities.
Without being buffed, supported by Stim Bs and food only, I can shred a Crackdown dropteam of stormtroopers in 2 minutes.
I can kill a Storm Commando drop team in three minutes.
I can kill the ultra rare Darktrooper drop teams in about 5 minutes.
With a fully loaded EE3, I kill level 136 Mokk Shaman camp spawns with 2 Shaman, 2 Primalists and a smattering of Loreweavers and Herbalists in undertwo minutes.
I can take on up to four Enraged Rancors simultaneously and win consistently.
I can kill the same number of low to mid level Nightsisters.
Now there is a very hard and unbreakable glass ceiling. Beyond a certain level of mob, my performance in combat drops off to nothing. The Corvette, the Death Watch Bunker, some elements of the Geonosian Lab, I just cannot work with because I cannot cause any damage to the mobs found there.
Being a Carbineer isn't about finishing the fastest, its about finishing the smartest. You haven't really played a ranged profession until you've been a Carbineer.

No offence to the original poster but if your just "grinding" out proffessions how could you ever know the true strengths of any proffesion let alone Carbineer.
I am currently Master BH and going Master Carbs...all I can say is this is one underated proffession.
The only major downer for me is the high HAM costs....thats it.
