I'm glad you settled for Carbines. They are indeed fun to use! 
Actually, you can find the answers to all your questions in this recent thread about BH/Carbineer mixes - that should help you sort out your options quite nicely.

Be sure to also check the FAQ for tips on which branches, trees, and specials to use when leveling and fighting. It's stickied at the top of the Carbineer forums - can't miss it.

/me point this answer out to firehawk. An example of a better answer than just "read the FAQ." Gets the same point, but it doesn't turn someone off from you. That's all I'm here for, TA's self improvement

The world is full of arseholes just because it is illegal to kill them.
What you fail to understand is that if a full answer to ONE question is given instead of reading the fact, then the other FIFTY questions the person will be asking WON'T be answered.
And FFS, is it any wonder I get defensive after reading BS like this, what a bunch of SH!T. I wish all you punks would come over to Chilastra so I could shove the business end of my Carbine up your arse.
I am so close to getting a suspension for violating the ToS that it isn't even funny.....people like you are the reason I left this fooking forum last week and I guess I should stay away from all the 10 year old minds.....

You know, I don't mean to offend by this. I work in tech support, and if I gave an answer like that, I would be fired. All I wanted was to point out that a short answer like this should encourage looking into the FAQ a bit more deeply. I've been using this tactic when people come asking me for info on the best carbine/special in game and I say "Well I like blah, but you should really check out the FAQ stickied on the Carbineer fourm" Don't take it as an attack PLEASE. I do not intend it that way. If it'll help matters any, I do apologize and I'll delete my post (edit it to nothing) if you would like.
