Just like any other prof I face, find the weakness and attack. Apply States to a Rifleman and he turns into a Novice Marksman with a CDEF pretty quick.

But until the CM nerf goes LIVE, I rarely see anybody in PvP, except me, that isn't a CM these days....sad, sad, sad.

And if the Rifleman or even Architect has same armor and setup as I have, I can't kill them no matter what I do.....

I had my best success vs rifleman of all flavors. Melee's kicked my ass from one end of the galaxy to the other tho lol. Kinda glad the fencer population has gone down, wonder why.

It does boil down to who has the bigger DOT in the long run. I rifleman wont do much damage if you have a sweet helm and chest piece, sliced psg, and steak running. Basicly if you can cure off the DOT's you stand an exellent chance of winning. Reason why I am done with pvp will the CB. Chem warfar = no skill for teh w1n. I gonna go makethe j3d1 lives miserable until then hehe. At least they cant toss the venom mind bombs on me lol.

Master doc is alot of wasted skill points if you plan to pvp. 4040 or even 4030 is all you need.

I wish that One-Star punk would come over to Chilastra so I can incap them 3 times and watch their armor decay....

What is that I see.....oh that is an L on your forehead, ok....

Rifleman are as easy as any other prof, besides CM, if they don't have 90% Comp and PSG on.....but go ahead and one star me because I have no idea what I am talking about.....

Carbines r good for one thing in pvp, support. Armor destroys any form of dmg this professsion can put out. However, the state effects and area kd's and such make it very very valuable in group pvp.

The profession becomes amazing when you have the dot weapons to work along with the crowd control aspect of the profession.

With dot carbines becoem the ranged pikeman, and become very devastating.

I know I'm not seen as a "pure carbineer" by some people (bleh, nonsense)... but I am a Master Carbineer, BH 4 carbines and 4/4/4/0 medic.... fought 2 riflemen yesterday (a TKM too).

The first master rifleman was hitting me hard with with headshots, no doubt... but he was standing still... I find carbineers seem to forget one important thing -- we are actually quite good at running and gunning (especially with the accuracy bonuses from BH)... I basically ran in circles around him at about 30m while he stood still doing headshots.... sure enough, he missed 4 times during the fight and got my mind pool to about 30% before I dropped him dead.... I missed 0 times while running around him (had a small few blocked though).

Basicaly vs him I used crippling shot only -- he had full composite and I used an Elite Carbine with 300 max damage (then used a powerup to make it stronger)... I was easily landing hits for 200-300 damage per crippling shot vs him (and I was firing 1 per second thanks to BH). The TKM who dueled him before was landing hits in the area of 40-80 per hit only and it took forever before the two ended the duel... As a former TKM myself, I can recall the annoyance of hitting for 50 dmg or so per hit... health bars would not budge vs full composite...

Not true for carbineers using crippling shot -- his HAM dropped in chunks at an alarming speed... note I did not use ANY state specials at all, just crippling shot.

The other master rifleman i foguth later I started with a quick Confusion shot (dizzy, stun), fireknockdown (took 3 before it worked) and then proceeded to slaughter him with crippling shot while he was on the ground... while on the ground I was landing hits for about 400 dmg per shot... he got up with about 10% of his action left and it only took 2 more shots before he was down for good.... I lost only about 25% of my mind pool to him (thanks to KD, dizzy).

I later fought a TKM and kited him -- first match I lost but not before dropped his mind pool to a sliver... basically I lost cus I had only helmet and torso armor on (i dont wear armor usually while hunting for credit missions and left the rest at the bank) so he wisely just targetted me with leghit when he finally caught up to me with a KD.. I was dead in 3 hits (no armor hehe)... however had I managed to last 10 more seconds I would have clearly won (or if I had armor on)...

It is so strange because I am so accustom to seeing many pvp battles go into unending battles where two people slug it out for 10 minutes while dealing out 50 dmg per hit to one another.... only winning finally when they wittle down the other person's mind pool...

A carbineer with 1 second crippleshot can win without taking out mind -- you can actually win by taking down their health or action due to the impressive damage (if they have medic skills though this wont work obviously as they can just heal)... fortunately crippleshot still hits mind as well quite often and that has been more than enough for me to win regularly.

On a side note I managed to get a great kill on a pesky overt imperial loitering around Dantooine yesterday

Carbines at the highest level are spectacular -- just run and shoot - carbines are highly accurate like this (we get a skill tree bonus to moving whilke shooting and the BH line also adds a huge bonus too)

A PSG would stop you COLD tho.....and it seems everybody on Chilastra has a crate full now....use a DXR6 bypasses the PSG

But your tactics are superb, job well done.

Thankfully I can get nearly the same accuracy and speed cap my Carbines without any BH....this lets me go 4440 Fencer - 0043 Pistoleer....which would have saved you from that Dizzy/KD loss you had

Fortunately on Bloodfin I have yet to encounter many people using psg's... only 2 times so far and that simply required me switching to my powerful damage sliced DXR6 with powerup - got the job done as well

I certainly see how many people achieve 1 sec cripple shot without BH, but personally for me, it is too much trouble/effort to get it done with such a high reliance on the right gear.. I am simply not patient/wealthy enough for that hehe - but it is clearly a solid way to go too and kudos to those who do - also opens the door for defensive skills too.

However, I am pleased with the BH bonuses and wouldn't trade themin for points elsewhere - I find fireknocdown and especially confusion shot incredibly useful (mostly confusion shot as I have yet to fail to dizzy someone in pvp with the first shot from it -- fireknockdown's dizzy is sporadic, but I usually get a KD from it after 2-4 attempts even vs TKM).

Also, I plan to hunt jedi with investigate skill too (will have to ditch my medic healing speed a bit to get the points, but no big loss)

With the Skill Point reduction on BH, that routeor using SEA's are almost a requirement for Carbineer these days......and almost any player can go at least one way or the other
