Hey guys.. u may be wondering why i'm posting here.. but i'll get to that. I'm currently *ALMOST* a master doc (will be very soon) and am a 0/0/3/2 marksman. I'm considering climbing the tree to become a master doc / carbineer and was wondering if you guys would think it was worth it.

basically i have a few ?'s.

1.) Is it worth it to be master doc / carbineer?

2.) What are the advantages of being a carbineer?

3.) Can carbineers kick tail in pvp?

carbineer is a decent support profession, it does not do that good with pvp

is there something better besides carbineer that I could become that would compliment being a master doc and still allow me to do good in PvP

Currently CM's and to a lesser extent Riflemen rule PVP. I think Nova (carbineer corespondent) is or was a MC/MD for quite some time. He might be able to shed some light on this combo.

Master Doc/Combt Medic seems very pointless to me... or am I wrong in saying this?

You know there's serious game breaking issues at work when a newb is Master Doctor...

since I am new to the game... and most 99.9% of the people have been extremely helpful by the way (just that small few that make fun of me for being new).. and I would really like to do PvE for a while before PvP I dont think that CM/MD is the right combo for me.

What is a good profession that will do good in PvE and PvP that compliments Master Doc?

Master Doc takes so many Skill Points you will never be great at PvE and PvP at the same time. But because of Master Doc you will never be horrible at PvE or PvP either

There have been a lot of successful Carbineer/Doc's in PvP and PvE but a Rifleman is probably better than a Carbineer....but it all depends what you want to do and which one fits your play style.

I was a M.Carb/M.Doc for a long time. I loved it quite a bit and it was probably my most favorite template to date. Right now I am trying out bounty hunter and if I don't like that, I will return to Doc. I even still collect resources improving my already impressive stash

Anyway, how good it is to you all depends on how good you want to be. Do you need to be THE guy, THE man, THE best when you PvP? Won't happen. Do you want to make an impact in PvP and PvE?That will happen. I won't really address PvE since Carb/Doc is really the same as any other non-BH carb template in PvP (if you have specific questions ask). In PvP carb Doc is really nice because you are largely immune to dizzy, intimidate, fire, poison and diseases since you can cure them with a button push. Add a few skill tapes and you can be a lethal combat medic hunter. In addition, you can buff/heal and those have advantages. No one will ever kill you with health or action. Protect your mind and you will go far. Since you can revive, all the Jedi will be your friends and you will very likely find yourself getting tells asking you to go PvPing. You can also whip outa droid and buff anyone that dies which keeps your team in the game longer. Doctors that actually PvP and get their hands dirty are pretty rare and quite well recieved.

1.) Is it worth it to be master doc / carbineer? Yes

2.) What are the advantages of being a carbineer? To be determined at combat balance hehehe

3.) Can carbineers kick tail in pvp? Master Carbineer alone no.

I am a Master Carbineer/ Master Doctor and am overt and pvpall the time. By myself in pvp I can usually win 70% of one on one fights (jedi excluded).

However when I am with a group in PvP battle I have found that a Master Carbineer/Doc is priceless you can hit the enemy with KD's and other states, while being able to tend to down teamates.

Itis a great template. If you choose to go this route you will not be gaining alot of kill points but you will become a respected and valuable asset to the team.

If you have enough tanks upfront, the combo of Master Doc and MCM will pwn small, meduim, and large battles. Throwing venom mind bombs and using uber janta cures is quite powerful. Not to mention you can uber buff yourself. Never did this, just seen it in action. No idea what the hell you would do in pve tho. I guess just sell med supplies to raise cash hehe.
