Thread: Dizzy state clearing on Posture change?

Lately when I use FullAutoSingle2 and stick a dizzy on the opponent and then hit ActionShot2 for the posture change I notice the dizzy clears immediately. I am still new to carbines and learning my specials so I didnt think much of it until Isaw this post in the Core Systems Clicky

Has anyone else noticed this? Another carbineer posted there too, so I thought I would drag the discussion over here.

Yes it was a 'stealth nerf' in a recent hotfix.

The intent was to prevent the DWB spawns and other NPCs from being 'bugged' like the Merc Room in the Geo cave to prevent fast-leveling (which is considered an exploit.)

The result is that any dizzy state on an NPC is auto-removed when postured down. Only direct knockdowns will ensure that a target remains dizzy. It still works for creatures though (but its useless) and against players.

Do we have a Fire KD or is that a BH carbines skill only?

It is a BH skill......as the FAQ lists all Carbineer Specials

It'd be great if it was true for PCs. I have nil defense so thak can prevent KD for me, but a posture down gets me 90% of the time.

That would however undercut one of our strongest abilities to dizzy/KD. As a non-BH, I have to rely on a posture-change to KD someone, otherwise with Thak, it's litterally impossible for me to do so.

You could applya dizzy once they are kneeling, but the 1-second delay in attempting to apply it with anything other than FireKD would be enough time for them to stand up, thus nullifying our posture-changes completely.

I find that most people are stackers and have high PD defense anyways. When I die, 90% of the time its because I was PD'd. I'd much rather that noone gets PD/Dizzy'd, than myself 100% of the time and maybe occasionally the opponent.
