Thread: Any good explanation of state effects?

Since Carbineer is the master of states (ok, somewhat) what exactly does each state effect do? The descriptions in-game are vague at best, and wrong at worst. I know that "blind" reduces accuracy...but by how much? I think "stun" lowers your AR by one level..but I don't think that's accurate. "Dizzy" only seems to have an effect when mixed with a KD or a posture down. "Intimidate" seems to be the only meaningful state effect, but carbineers can't apply that without a mixed brawler template. So I ask again......what exactly does each state effect do? I've been playing for over a year now and still don't completely know.

Thanks in advance

TH answered this (kinda) in one of his 19 Questions......Novamarine actually asked the question and took a poll here as well.....you probably have to go back 6 months

LOL

Nice try, but the Devs will never give specific number info for anything, so not much to tell really. The only info we have is the in-game descriptions (basically what TH gave as his answer) and your own in-game experiences.

Thank you, I now have a clue that I too am not the only person without a clue to what these do. If we were given a better clue to what these do then when we do shoot our carbines such as you, then we will woo all them foo and give them their due. Hopefully after CU,they will give us our dueandthey'llgrief and say boo whoo, who are you to do the things you do?

I have no idea what possessed me to make a rhyming response.....do you?

LOL... I'm a master Bounty Hunter/dabbling Creature Handler, and I've been experimenting with all the state changes since I discovered the profound effect of Intimidate onmy targets'attacks when I ordered pets like my graul mauler to intimidate them. I agree: Intimidate is definitely the strongest state change in the game, by far. Stun and Blind when applied together seem to do pretty well, but even their cumulative effect is nowhere nearas dramatic as Intimidate by itself. I saw somewhere on Allakhazam.com that Intimidate lowers its victim's damage potential to 33% of normal, but it said nothing about how much (if any) that it changed the target's defense modifier. That's the only place I saw even one numerical quantifier of ANY state change's effect after a long day of searching.

Ah, well... When we quantify the effects of these state changes, maybe we can tackle Confuse.

Good forum, people! Very analytical, with lots of informative back-and-forth discussion, and my kudos to TAFirehawk for his well-laid-out, highly-readable posts.
