Thread: Dabbling in Carbineer

I plan on becoming a carbineer. But once i hit novice with just the carbine line in marksman, i will only have 22 skill points to spend (master BE and CH are taking up the rest of my points). Should i go into ranged support in marksman at all, or just carbineer? Which skills would be best to get? Answers will be very much appreciated.

OK, lets look at MBE and MCH with rest in Carbineer.....

You can go 0400 Carbineer with 3 points left. And having +30 Carbine Speed, +110 Carbine Accuracy with FullAutoSingle2 your only shot right now.....LegShot3 coming

Actual Firing Speed with a 2.5 Speed carbine will be 3.0 seconds. Laser Carbine damage of 50-280 and FAS2 modifier will result in 275-1540 which results in 302 DPS. This isn't too bad and will improve to 477 DPS with +25 Carbine Speed tapes.

Now lets look at my current stats...... +79 Carbine Speed and +133 Carbine Accuracy will result in 908 DPS with FAS2 and 945 DPS with CrippleShot. So while your damage will be 1/3 to 1/2 mine, you aren't too bad off if you get setup properly.

As you can see I do a lot of math here and can get into more examples and detail if you wish

Could you convince me how carbineer dabblingwould be better than pistoleer dabbling (or vice versa) with 22 skill pts leftover after novice of either? Also, what would be the best skills to take in the better choice?

Sorry for asking for so much, but i REALLY want to get the most out of my skill points. The reason i am so attached to carbineer is because i have quite a few attachements in store, but no pistol attachements at all.

The FAQ will give more detail and why, but 4404 would be fine for you....even more than for Dizzy/KD as those are all in XXX4.

Ok, thanks for the reply.

I was thinking about 3 branches of Carbineer (now 4404), Master rifles, and Doc 3000. This would be purely for PvP. You could dizzy/kd your targets then switch to your Jawa and pump the damage.

Has anyone triend a Rifleman/Carbineer template?

I'n not a doctor... but don't you need way more med use to cure dots well? Personaly, i'd take carbineer 0404 and 3040 doc.

No you don't. You can cure states with State-pack As, but most other things like Poisons/Diseases can be made with a low med use. Fire Blankets can be effectively experimented to 55 MU for example.

Hi,
I was thinking about building an alt with Carbineer in it, but I don't have enough SP to do master. I just need the Dizzy/KD of carbineer

How much carbineer do you need to have the best dizzy/kd you can have in carbineer. I only have enough SPs to do 3 trees in carbineer, any recommendations would be nice!

Thanks,

You know that in marksman (xxx4) you get a move called SupressionShot, that has a posture change down effect. If you combine that with FlurryShot (xxx1) rifleman then you have a Dizzy KD if your opponent trys to stand up.

I'll admit its not as good as a normal KD, but it gets the job done and it also takes a lot less Skill Points, to do more in Doctor if you wanted to.
