Hello, I'm working on becoming a Carbineer and wondered what were the best non-bugged specials to use...

I don't have everything yet, but it seems to be (order based on your preference):

Crippling shot, Burst Shot 1/2, Scatter Shot 2, Charge Shot 1, Action Shot 1 (yeah, it's a marksman skill, but it does fun posture down), Full Auto Area 1/2

Um...anything else that's good that I don't use?

No forced interaction (in an MMORPG?), but hey, the expansions sure seem forced.

You never stack actionshot 1 and 2? No sense in having two bleeds tick I guess.

I use, chargeshot (bugged, but its FUN!), burst, cripple, as1 + 2 (2 has that silly cone effect thing going on, and works oddly. but, if firing on 1 opponent, it works the same as as1), scattershot (good xp getting skill, also good finish special). fullauto areas are good when in a group and a pet is taking on multi targets. Lots of fun xp that way.

I have just started my Carbineer profession (holo) and I actually like it. I have a newb question, I notice that action and health are used alot in carbine specials. Why is it that people on this forum say that tatooine sunburn is the drink of choice for carbineers? that boosts strength and stamina no? please advise

A high strength bonus means that your health cost for specials is reduced pretty much to 0.

A high stamina bonus means that your action regeneration rate is highly increased (so you can regen all the action you used on a special before you fire the next one).

Those secondary stats are actually more important than the primary stats...

Breath of Heaven and Ryshcate are also good things to take with you.

well, currently, the ham costs are too high, some of the guns don't shoot fast enough, some don't do enough damage or have armor piercing, at least half our specials are apparently broken.......otherwise it's a good profession seriously though, in patch 7 we're getting fixed. i think you can test it out on test center

Think carbineer will ever get a stun gun?

Most battles occur with completely buffed stats and 80% or higher base effectivness armor. In a situation when both players are equipped with the most protective armor and full buffs on all stats, how does a Carbineer defeat them?

Most Carbine weapons don't do anything more than 500 damage (that's with a powerup). How do you defeat another player who has buffs that allow them to regenerate faster than you can damage them?

I've had a lot of success with dizzying and knockdown/change position. I have been able to keep players on the ground. However, I have been unable to do any serious damage even with my opponent in such a state. I have several nice Carbines that max out my speed yet even with such speed, buffed opponents are able to regenerate faster than I can damage them.

What are Carbineer (No BH or other weapon) options for dealing with such an opponent?

Well Carbineer is not the only prof in this problem....

All you can do is walk away unless you like to decay your armor. Sorry but that is the truth of the situation until we reach the Combat Balance. Carbineer even THEN won't be a solo PvP profession all by itself. So if you are looking to be uber in 1 on 1 duels then you will NEVER want to be just a Carbineer.

TA is right...Carbineer is simply not a solo PvP profession...it is just not set up for it. Sorry.
