Considering how caring and considerare the devs are, i'd be willing to bet my Cu Pa mount (level 8) that our new carbines will be energy, acid and heat.

If by god, we get a new damage type, the schematic will be ultra hard to get, similar to the swordsman's Scythe Blade.

The idea on armor does sound like a decent way to prevent all the noobs running around with full 80% comp, but the devs already have a big surprise nerf planned.

Um.....

Frankly. I *hope* it's as hard to get as the Scythe.

Because that's dead easy, really.

I'd rather it be similar to the DXR-6b, because that's *also* dead easy, and there isn't a limit on the amount of times you can get it. (each toon can only get the Scythe Schematic twice)

Personally I dont think even that's the way to go. Especially considering the non-master armors have always had special resists. Ubese is Kinetic, Padded is Blast, etc. It doesnt make a lot of sense to randomly say "You're a CM so you get armor thats good against Blast but nothing else"

Personally Ive long supported the idea of nerfing Composite a bit AND increasing the middle armors.

Specifically Composite should get a maximum effectiveness of 50% to everything. Bone should get a maximum 25% to everything [including kinetic which it provides NO resist to currently, its newbie armor, why should it HURT newbies?]

The middle-line armors should be specialist armors. 25% resist to everything [again maximum theoretical] and 75% resist to what they specialize in.

The result? Composite is overall less used. If you have no idea what damage type your opponent does its the best out there, but if you do know that it only does Kinetic, or only Blast, then a specialist armor will be better.

Result: we see more armor types than Bone [poor ignorant newbies], Ubese [best out there if you cant afford Composite], and Composite. I find it rather sad that we have 6 Armor types and only 2 are ever really seen.

You have gone out and got the Scythe schematic right? It's one of the easiest to get imo. If you are talking bout the krayt that spawns....open chest, take schematic.....run to bike /mount and fly away. no reason to fight the thing.

this game is so imbalanced, no im not going to say it. no. never mind... at least they could put armor certifications in differant classes. that could take care of a lot. Make bounty hunters be able to use all armor, and commando's as well (for the lack of defense) give padded armor certs to elite classes. and uh ubese to the rest of the hybrid classes. (smuggler, cm, etc) man remember the days of clothes. Bah people are to scared to fight without super armor, buffed. try food andBEclothes like me. lol ok im done here. oh yeah carbine post. uhhh hey we getting a new energy carbine. lol

Just a personal opinion: IWAssassin understood everything about armors. To wear an armor should be a tactical choice...

On FarStar: MYLO EXAGONALIS ---> Mon Calamari Pikeman / Doctor.

On Chimaera: JANTO KORMAKIS ---> Human Commando / Rifleman / Squad Leader

Honestly, the state of combat is so off it's tilt that no hot fix is going to change it. The devs need to scrap the system, and build a new foundation, and that's what they're doing with the combat balance, all the fixes we are getting now are just to make the game tolerable until they can get around to the big project. That's why they're pushing out JTL first, because if they do the combat balance first, we wont see JTL for another 4 months....not that any one would mind that scenario.
