ok everybody, i am currently a master swordsman master fencer with some other irrelevent stuff, working on pike. After pikeman i was htinking of another profession to do and it occured to me that i knew virtually nothing about the carbineer profession. I most definatly want to keep swordsman it hink it will stack nicely with counter attack. SO i ask you, how do you fare in PvP, PvE, and is the profession fun? Thanks guys

PvP --- gets easier with experience

PvE --- gets easier with experience

Profession is fun? ---Yes, very fun.

A few tips....

  • Master swordsman is not worth hanging on to for just a counterattack bonus.

  • Check the stickied posts at the top of the forum.

  • Memorize whatevery carbineer special doesand when to use it. This will help you greatly.

  • As a pure carbineer (no dabbling for accuracy/speed/defenses), PvP can be very frustrating at times. You will lose. If you do not think you are up for it, I suggest you try something else.

With that said....hope to see you around

I totally agree.

True. Even with a lot of CA, your total defenses will still be sub par by today's PvP standards. The pair makes a VERY nice offensive combo, but DO NOT fool yourslef if you think you'll have any decent defenses with the 2.

Amen, brotha!

/agree That is one of the most important steps to becoming a good carbineer.

Even WITH extra speed and accuracy, using a carbine in PvP is still a bit frustrating. I have wll over +100 speed (i.e. I cap every special with any carbine) and I have +190 something (I have a bit from SEAs) in accuracy, but withthe current state of armor, and the carbine's lack of any damage other than energy/acid/heat still make it extremely tough to inflict major damage in PvP. Yes, you will lose, but practice makes almost perfect.
