Thread: reconsider the not an auction board decision?

hey, just a friendly suggestion, finding +speed attachements is so important to this profession, i think any availability is really a profession-related issue, therefore maybe speed tape auctions of, say +3 or higher, should be allowed on this board?
I mean, i just did a search on the bria galaxy forums (fun, lithium is such an amazingly fast BBS system < sarcasm > ) and there are no messages with 'carbine' in the body since February 04. I have a hard time believing that, but s'what lithium told me.
I'd love anything that made speed tapes easier to find is all i'm saying
please don't flame me on this, it' just a suggestion, happy to be convinced it's a Bad Idea or happy for support if others want it.
llilh de bria who's dropping BH carbines to go Doc/mCarbineer and will have a BAD speed hangover soon.

You would have to take that up with GarVa or Virrago or one of the Devs. This is a Moderator thing that we Carbineers adopted before they had to come in here and "enforce" the rule.
It goes back to off-topic and spamming posts in the Guidelines for all posts. It would be nothing different than all of us going to a Galaxy Trade Forum and discussing how we want to edit the FAQ or something....

With all due respect (lots due, you're a great rep. for carbineers, we've been lucky having first Nova then you), it's exactly the analogy you're making that I'm questioning. I think we could argue that speed tapes are an essential part of our profession, so finding and acquiring them is very much on topic for our profession's board.
I didn't know it was a dev decision, if we wanted, that is, if there was interest from the community, in allowing speed tapes to be sold on the carbineer forum we could approach them w/ the case that it's not Off Topic at all. I'm just saying 'could' and 'if' -- i don't care enough to make this a personal crusade, just wanted to get a sense of what others thought. Now that we know what the Devs have said, can I ask what do you personally think, TA? Do you feel it's totally OT? Mind you i know you have yours already

I know its hard to get decent carbineer stuff, but they outlaw it because if one person does it everyone will its an abuse thing. There will be nothing but auctions with people trying to sell stuff from every server. It will eventually get off topicfrom providing info on the carbineer profession fornew and experienced players even though, im sure some people will conduct great auctions and will be very respectfull but there is a place for selling of items, and I suggest just making a post on what you want to buy on your trade galaxy forum.

i just went back to the lithium search engine and tried yet again, this time it found 3x as many posts w/ 'carbine' in the body and some quite recent, so i withdraw my request - it looked like the trade boards just didn't have carbine speed attachments but now i think the search was just gimped. Heh, I'll always do two or three searches before i give up from here on out.

Gotta love Lithium..... 
And reasonable "trade forum" posts are allowed here as some are mentioned in that thread.
Lastly, Moderators do not patrol this Forum so all removed posts are requested by me and others.....so it is a judgement call I make on some posts....

When i read the title first i thought it was stupid, but when i think about it, actually, this would be very nice... What would you think about *one* stickied post where everyone would post their links to carbine related auctions?
