Hey you carbineers, I have a question for you. Do you guys have an area attack special? If sois there adamage mod on it? If not what special/specials are most effective for taking on mobs in pve? Any and all input welcome, thanks for your time

That is covered through a number of posts in the FAQ, specifically the link for Specials

don't be so hard TA
Yes, we do have area specials
They consist of
fullautoarea 1 & 2
legshot3 ( broken - I believe it was made to be area attack)
chargeshot2
actionshot2
I use fullautoarea 2 for PvE ( its great against Mokks and Jantas ) because it can stun/dizzy/blind them, I then follow with a chargeshot2 to put most of them on their ass
I don't really use actionshot2 but to land a second bleeding on a target. I mainly use actionshot1 while crouched to pull a single target out of a too much dangerous crowd
Have I forgot something?

Thanks for the info so far guys.Apon TAs adviceI looked in the carbineer faq and I came across burst shot 2. With a 6.0 damage modifier and the cone/multi target affect as well as a lower ham cost then full auto area 2 this would seem like the fastest way to chew through mobs. I realize that it doesnt have the status affects that some of the other specials do, but in your experiences does burst shot 2 seem to work the quickest when it comes to mobs in pve?

Burst shot 2 is an area power attack, but if you want to inflict major damage, Cripple shot is what your looking for, but its a single target attack. If I was gonna go after area attacks, i'd be using fullautoarea2, just cause of the added state effects, then maybe throw in a chargeshot2 (areakd) or a actionshot2 (area Position Change). In fact thats a pretty good combo vs NPC's, area dizzy, area PC and down they fall.

In my opinion actionshot2 is the most interesting area special of carbineer.
It's great. It is actually the area attack which kills your targets in the fastest way, because it only targets action. It also puts an action bleed on the targets andforces them to kneel.
Burstshot2 is the most damaging (dmg multiplier *6.0) area attack, but it's damage is spread to all three pools (3/2/1 health/action/mind). Actionshot2 has only a damage multiplier of 3.0, but as it hits action only, in practice it kills the target as fast as burstshot2... but the difference is the speed, burst2 is way slower then action2... so unless your speedcapped, your targets will be killed much faster with actionshot2, and in addition, it gets the bleeding on it and is forced kneeling.
Btw: Carbineer area attacks are worthwhile once you fight more than one enemy.
/edit: WOW, i've just noticed that i can edit my posts!!! WOOT!

It is all about time management.....the FAQ is there for a reason. There is over 5,000 posts already in the CU Forums along withat least 100/dayin the Corr Forum, not to mention my Galaxy and Trade Forums and Game Guide and 3-5 other Prof boards I like to watch. But you folks here are my #1 priority and I read every single post here and check for new ones at least twice a day.
My answers are short because I have 1,000 posts a day to read and nearly 50-100 replies a day as well.
BTW, I know you were joking, but I felt this was a good chance to let everybody know being a Corr is demanding when things are busy
