I don't care if its not the best, but with MBH/MC can I take high end pve with a group and be viable in pvp? also could I take down jedi? Think it would be fun, but I have no idea what I'm gonna end up doin.

There's a lot of threads regarding this exact issue, a quick search for BH/Carbineer here will yield many results, but essentially:

PvE: great for low-to-middle end content.. high damage.. but when it comes to high level stuff, useless

PvP: great support character, but very low defenses means vulnerable to most melee classes and states

Jedi: you can only hunt low-level Jedi.. don't even think about hunting FRS perma-overt ones.

Altogether, you have some great specials and speedcap rather easily, but throw in high MOB resists or armor/buffs/psgs/defenses/dots/Jedi and you're out of luck.

Well, thats a kind of negative view admiral....you ARE correct but it all depends on how u play it. It can be viable in jedi hunting up to a certain point if you are good, but its not like you should be able to touch high level jedi anyway by urself ( tho it is possible....)

pve: extremely high damage- no debating this. If played properly can do well even against higher level, damage types just dont match up with some of the high level enemies. high mob resists would mess up other classes as well

pvp: again, if played well is very very good. With BH carbines accuracy can become extremely high and able to wipe thru alot of melee/ranged defenses that your opponents may have. However, if you get within melee you are pretty much screwed. Therefore, should be used from behind the lines out of danger if possible.

altogether, i agree if your throw in all that crap youre out of luck, most people would be but if you play to your strengths and know what you are doing , carbineer can be a extremely powerful force to be reckoned with.....just keep in mind the weaknesses.

Oh heh agreed - it'd simply be impossible for me to explain all the intricacies of Carbineer in a single post. It's very possible to make it work, but still, my comments are sadly not too far from the truth.

As far as high-level NightSisters, Krayts, the DWB or even the Corvette are concerned, Carbineer ranks as one of the lowest damage-dealing professions. Anything under that, though, and we are kings.

When you bring PvP into the picture, it easily takes several million credits to get Carbineer to work. For a BH/Carbineer, this is probably spent in getting 85%+ effectiveness composite armor and very high damage krayt carbines. Defensive attachments are also very useful, but again, expensive. For a simple Master Carbineer, credits need to be spent on speed and accuracy attachments in order to make things work.

And as far as Jedi are concerned, while we may have a slight advantage over Riflemen and Pistoleers due to our states and posture changes against low level Jedi, any knight done his/her trials is instead-death, no doubt about it. Contrast that to the fact that any of the 4 melee professions can easily take out your average FRS-ranked Jedi and you'll see why my comments are perhaps a bit negative.

Altogether, Carbineer is the funnest combat profession I've played, and I've tried them all. Let's not kid ourselves into thinking that it's easy though.. someone who Masters TK doesn't have to worry about damage or speed/accuracy attachments, whereas Riflemen never need to worry about damage either. For all intents and purposes, Carbineer still remains, in my mind, an underdog profession on all aspects as far as "veteran gameplay" (high-level PvE and PvP) are concerned.

But it's fun.. and I love it.. and that's all that matters.

I like carbineer for a few reasons, the main reason being that I like to be an individual and not some TKM clone who goes around soloing everything. Another great reason that this is a good proffesion is that it is alot of fun, especially if you like using specials for a cool effect. Here's an example, I'm currently 1/3/0/2 (just started really trying to get master a few weeks ago) and went to the RougueCorSec base on Correlia to even out my faction so CorSec wouldn't kos me. I got to the base (all inhabitants of the base appearing light blue) and wanted to try out some of the specials I don't get a chance to use very often, such as fullautoarea1 (bounty hunting rarely if ever calls for this). I walked into one of the main bases and hit the hotkey to a group of maybe 4 or 5 Rogue Corsecs, with that shot I knocked them all dead, just seeing that and knowing that you had just done it is an amazing feeling in itself. I was seriously thinking about quiting the game because I didnt have enought time to fit it into my schedual, I took a 3 month break and when they were ditributing the 10-day freetrials a few months ago I logged in and started really liking carbineer. Soon enough I was making time for the game again, being a carbineer is alot of fun.

As for PvP, I rarely take part in it due to the fact that I'm not in a guild, therefore I am in the dark about when the battles will be, and also due to the fact that most of the time when I see a PvP it is dominated by jedi and TKMs (even though in the movies there were a very very small amount of jedi and the most hand to hand combat was when chewbacca knocked out a imperial trooper). I'm more of a PvE person because if you use the right strategies you can solo alot as a carbineer (but only if you can pull them one at a time).

Not only good in mid-end PvE but also extremly fun, no endless spamming, you can actually play with a mob

Want to hear about the old Kudaark? huh?
Vangeance he seeks from those who took away his Loved One
But never an innocent or a helpless one will he harm
For he is a Protector, fearsome and fearless in battle
In the name of Freedom he sways his Justice

I don't PvE except to make money, but, as for Pvp I Love haveing a Master carbineer Bh carbines along, It Stops melee stackers in there tracks. In large scale PvP, the kind i prefere, 3-4 speed capped rifleman and a couple of cabineers/bh carbiness can creat a kill zone 30m wide and 64 meters long. It goes like this, idiot steps into kill zone, Carbineer/bh carbines keeps them there. and rifleman rip em to shreds. This taketic is esp useful in Base defense/offense, sine Both proffesions have very Nice AOE's.

As previously mentioned, I wouldn't try hunting Jedi Knights are those that are known to have Master LS by yourself, but if you're in a group, Fire KD orcharge shot is abeautiful thing if it hits when they try running away. Don't depend on it, but treat unblocked/successful ranged kd's as a gift

Sprayshot does not make MBH worth it to me.

I think you would be better off with pistol techniques 4 and medic 2 1 0 0.

That way you would have better the defenses and the ability too heal away lots of damage (Get +400 b-stims and +25 injury treatment BE clothes).
