Thread: Does the FS speed thing work?

I just got to the village and got the ranged speed line, has anyone tested this to see if it works man I could drop BH if this is true hehe?

It really is nothing too major. I believe it is only +1 to each mod per box. Total of +4 for each upon completion of each individual branch.

It is +3 per box, for a total of +12.

FS Ranged Speed was bugged before. Has anyone tested Ranged Speed yet?

And where are the tests for this?


It was mentioned by countless Corrs but no word on how soon the coding can be done to fix this. Until I see some hard evidence, it is broken....


Melee Speed works for Carbineer, not Ranged Speed until you see it on TC and Patch Notes....plus some verification from trusted testers. Otherwise, be very careful what ASSumptions you make.


BTW, please keep your GUESSES to yourself as I don't appreciate things pulled out the arse portrayed as fact (as shown in your second post). If you want to directly contradict proven fact and try to make corrections to such fact, then present a case, not a simple statement.

I must appologize for not posting our previous findings in the FAQ, my bad.....only FS Melee Speed works and it works for Carbineer too

Melee Speed works for sure, I'm Combat Prowess 1002 and I'm atleast getting a +6 boost on top of my 25 in SEAs for a total of 31, which allows me to speedcap a 4.0+ weapon.


I picked up FS Ranged Speed 1, though, in case the broken mod might start working.. whether or not I'm getting +9 extra effective speed, I can't say. I'll try to fiddle around with attachments (+21 worth) so that I get exactly +30 in speed, at which point, testing FS Ranged speed would be a piece of cake.


Like Firehawk said, I haven't seen any official note as to whether or not it's fixed or still bugged.. I'm sticking to FS Melee Speed for now.

well crap your tellin me the ranged speed is still broken but the melee speed works for ranged damn I just got that hole tree

I'm trying to test it out right now, actually. Problem is I'm only working with +3 speed difference, which is hard to test out. Right now, I have 1 box in Ranged Speed and 2 in Melee Speed.


I'm using a +10 speed bandolier, a +7 speed belt and a +5 speed Armor piece, for a total of +21 speed in SEAs. Theoretically, if only melee speed worked, that would add +6, making it +27 speed in total, which would NOT allow me to speedcap a 4.0 weapon.


As far as I can tell, though, I can fire a 3.9 speed weapon (which requires 89.7 speed, or 90 speed total, or +30 in mods to cap) at speedcap.. so from very rough initial tests, I think Ranged FS Speed works.


Not concluding anything, though.. the jump in speedcaps when you reach 30 is iffy.. whereas were I to take a weapon with slower speeds like (2.5) and try to work out SEAs to test it out, I'd get a better estimate.


Seedo, what you CAN do, though, is take any standard 3.9 and 4.0 speed weapon and duel someone for about a minute using CrippleShot on them. DO NOT equip any SEAs or mods, you should only have Master Carbineer + 12 FS, for a total of 72 carbine speed.


If you can tell me how many CrippleShots you can fire off (whether they hit or miss) in about a minute, or even 30 seconds, we can easily figure out if Ranged Speed works.

Well on the plus side it won't (shouldn't) be like this forever, with JtL slowly getting out the devs primary focus, they will be able to get back to work on the ground game.

And when counting be sure to count the RELOAD time and number, which is Total Shots - 1. The first shot is actually zero
