A few thngs I've heard about the Combat Upgrade Revamp Balance are really neat, like being able to customize the color of your blaster bolts, and maybe even the sound, but I think my favorite idea that I've heard is just making the weapons more variable in their effectiveness. I've always liked the look of the DH-17 Snubnose and if one could be made that was fairly effective I'd be very happy.

Besides the AP I have snubnoses now that are +300 damage and around 2.1 speed or so.

I'm pretty sure that was a player wish and not something a DEV came out and said. The only thing they've said about changing is that some guns will be able to change modes.
Look for the armor upgrade documents for more information about the modes.

I can tell you there is no such information.....even in the CU Docs.....
Unless a RED name says it, don't believe it as all other players have an "agenda" for spreading rumors/lies.

There is a lot of brainstorming going on with the new Dev Teams, but they don't overlap into the CU.

It was mentioned by a Dev as part of the upcomming loot changes. Should be in the Dev Tracker somewhere. Or perhaps a Stratics HoC log back or two.
Wasn't part of the "modes" planned for the CU. That's for sure.

I remember having read that aswell. I believe it was posted when the loot revamp was on the works, close to be released. It mentioned the possibility to customize weapons, change the color of the bolts, add some sort of lenses to boost some stats that would be crafted by (insert crafting profession here), special "spices" to increase certain skills (those speed/accuracy modifiers) and a lot more.
However I've done a search and I cannot find it. I swear I read something about it, and I'm pretty sure it came from a red name. I don't want to spread gossip at all, it was either TH or Tiggs. I'll keep searching it, although the "In development" and "In concept" forums seem to be purged/updated constantly.

Mwhehehe, I found it.
Optional Crafting Components
The idea here is you have a pistol that takes 4 items to make (10 metal, 15 aluminum, 25 fiberplast, 10 gemstones) and it takes optional components. One of the optional components we add, for example, could be a light amplification filter. Basically this would let a player pick which color bolts their weapon will fire (red, blue, green, etc.).
To this end, it would be fantastic if we could make bolts of different types (one that's really long ----, one that's short staccato bursts - - -, one that's wider ==, etc.) then players could know what weapon is being fired and they could use color options to customize their character's weapons. Other ideas that follow along with Optional components could include similar things, perhaps an optional item that changes the sound effect your weapon makes.

Well don't hold your breath on every In Concept Item on this or any list.
It would be a nice customization and it should be easy enough to do when the weapon is made.
