Went to Dantooine today to grind some faction points. After picking up a few missions I headed out onto the plains to find my first rebel camp. Upon arriving I see the usual cluster of reb npc's standing around waiting for me to kill them. I do my usual opener and hit them with a few Full-Auto Area 2's just to wake them up and for a laugh.
Throught the confusion is see something big and angry coming at me from behind a hill....a Graul Marauder. Hastily backpeddling I keep spamming Full-Auto Area to at least take care of the pesky rebs obscuring my view. Then I have an insane thought...with 55% resist to energy (I think it was) and medium armour maybe, just maybe I can give it a fair go with my PU Laser Carbine (520 max damage). Running very, very fast throught the trees I keep hitting him with everything I can think of trying to make it stick but mainly stayed with Crippling Shots after not landing a state or KD. After about 10 mins and me running like an olympic sprinter on amphetamines the big fella finally went down!
Feeling proud with myself I head back to the reb camp, finish it off and head to the next target. Again, a group of scruffy rebs standing around stinking up the place....so I open fire just like before with Full-Auto Area (first checking that no gargantuan creatures were lurking nearby). However, this time one of the rebs didnt quite look right in his red robes and evil sneer...oh oh...Force Crystal Hunter!
Well...after switching to my DXR6 I proceeded to run about 20 laps of Dantooine by which time the FCH just couldnt even be bothered running any more and seemed to want to die. Finally he goes down despite his 80% resists and numerous chokings of myscrawnyZabrak neck....however he trashed my speeder first out of spite and then promptly died.
After buying a newswoop I head back with the intention of finally doing some actual faction missions. My next target looked relatively peaceful....just a fewgrungy hippy types standing around a red flag. As I lay into them and to my astonishment a couple of Untrained Wielders of the Dark Side spawn on my left and a big group of Abandoned Rebels on my right with the maingroup of rebs attacking from the front.
All in all I made very little money, lost a swoop and didnt get much in the way of FP but I must say it was a most delightful picnic.
Moral of the story....KITE KITE KITE!

Carbineer can be quite fun. I decided to get some FS XP and NOT use my CH Pets for a challenge. It was great fun to see NPC's and Creatures die before they could even reach me....gotta love ActionShot1 and ChargeShot1

Of course it is also fun to send in my CH Pets and watch a group of 6-8 things gather on them and open up with FullAutoArea2 and then BurstShot2.....watching a whole group of bad guys (especially Imps) die in a hurry

lol...whilst I cant agree on your choice of targets I totally echo your sentiments. Our profession is so much fun and I can sometimes liken it to being a puppeteer. Action Shot 1, Wild Shot 1, Charge Shot 1, CrippleShot= Target goes down, target goes up, target goes dooowwnnn, stays down, target gets up, target goes down (permanently).
My wife has no idea why the hell I laugh so much during fights in this game. Only The Carbine Brotherhood has the insight
