I gave up Master Pistoleer to try a softer profession, and ended up choosing Doctor. After about a month, I decided to put those buffs to use on myself and try a profession that looked cool and actually required them: Carbineer.
So I started on it about a week ago. I don't get to play much (maybe 6 hours a week), so I haven't leveled at all - only 2/0/0/1 so far. I was really looking forward to ChargeShot1, but I guess that's out of the question, so what now?
I don't wish to drop Carbineer, because quite frankly, when you play as little as I do, going back to a Novice Marksman or Novice Brawler tree is very frustrating and an utter waste of my time. So I'm sticking with Carbineer, atleast until I use up all skill points. But what shots are good to use now? I typically bleed targets with ActionShot1, then use FullAutoSingle2 (or LegShot2 to weaken the action bar due to the bleed.)
I'm really not looking for any complaints - Carbineers were slapped again, and while its in all aspects an inferior class to Pistoleer (or heck, any combat class), I was simply wondering what tactics you would all be using now.
What shots do you use now? What combos?

I'll probably keep the same strategies.
legshot2 for stun
full auto for blind
chargeshot1 so I can get to ideal range
burstshot1/cripple for big damage
suppression fire to make them kneel so i can get to ideal range again
burstshot1/cripple for damage
actionshot2 to make them kneel so i get to ideal range once more. It will bleed them but it's such a small amount that that just ends up being a bonus.
repeat and rearrange the order as necessary.

its pointless guys.... the above listed combo could work, but now that PVP decay is gone you're going to start seeing everybody in armor again and when our oponent is in armor we have NOTHING... especially against riflemen.

That was for PvE. In PvP, unless you have every stat buffed and 80% to everything comp and they don't, you're probably not gonna do very well. Actually, you'll still get whooped on by anyone who knows what they're, doing buffed or unbuffed.

Darn. Is there anything we can use against the CM/Rifleman PvP Combo? Anything at all? I hate them.. with their poisons and head shots.
Atleast with CS1 one could keep them down and run away. Also, which packs more punch? BurstShot1 or Cripple Shot?

I am a Master Marksman/Master Pistoleer/Master Smuggler. I suck at PvE and I suck at PvP.
Not to mention I hate PvP, so I never even try it. So mainly I just go about doing PvE, however I die a lot or I would if it wasn't for Feign Death. However it would now seem this one skill has been made useless. Underworld is not much use, Sliceing is ok but I barely use it, Spices I never use and Dirty Fighting is now useless too.
So I do not see much point in keeping Smuggler anymore, I was useing it for RP as I like being a Smuggler, but now it seems useless. So I guess I should just drop it.
However like I said I die all the time, mainly because Pistoleer is quite useless to and it doesn't really deal anywhere near enough damage. If I want to survive now it seems I will have to goto a Melle profesion (in all likelyhood Teras Kasi) or Jedi. However I really do not what to do the ridiculas grind to Jedi and going Melle where is the Star Wars in that?
Star Wars is meant to be about 2 sides fighting a war useing blasters against each other, not running about punching each other in the face.
I could wait for the Combat Rebalance, Galactic Civil Warand the Smuggler Revamp but we have been waiting for that for 2 years now.
The only Star Warsey part of this game now seems to be JtlS and JtlS is not that great, if I want to play a Star Wars game like that I would be much better of playing X-Wing Alliance.
So could anyone tell me why I should stick around and play Star Wars Galaxies, because really I am failing to see where the Star Wars bit is.

Well....
My only suggestion is to not drop it yet, give this latest change a few days to shake down before making any career change
Cheers

I have an idea.
Let merchants buy faction points.
Let Weaponsmiths slice weapons.
Let Armorsmiths slice armor.
Then there is no need for smuggler and the devs don't have to worry about doing a smuggler revamp...Oh wait, they aren't.

How odd.. I was master pistoleer/master smuggler and between /eyeshot and /pistolmelledefence1 i rarely lost a pvp battle , even TKMasters went down on occasion. Perhaps you haven'tmanaged to get your hands on a decent Gen Blaster , DE-10 pistol or Striker pistol? Or are you fighting with people that have maxed out there use of bio clothes and armor attachments , while you are dressed in a suit of ubese armor?
I had no troble in PvE either, just a matter of knowing when to kite, and knowing what monsters were and were not vulnerable to my weapons.
