This was the profession I wanted to play since the begining of the game. I stopped leveling carbineer to try out commando and some other things. Here is the template I want to make:

Master Swordsman

Master Carbineer

(0000) Novce Medic

(1000) Novice Scout

(0040) Pistoleer

I'm wondering would this be a decent PvP/PvE template. I don't want to be "uber", or win 100% of the time. I knwo that untill the combat balance happens that CM's and rifleman will own PvP in general. What I need to know is are there any good tactics I can use in this template?

Do the knockdowns work properly?

What part of carbineer should I get first?

You will be a PvE God, literally. And PvP pretty good...Carbineer KD/Dizzy, Swordsman smashing people in face.

Read my guid for Carbineer, on any of our other great stickied topics, they all come in hand and explain everything in detail.

Like he said, an awesome template. With vehicles and such now though, I don't know why people still feel the need to waste points on scout but to each his own. The only other problem I see with your template is the lack of TKA's Meditate line, I wouldn't even make a crafter or an entertainer in this game without that line.

i personally try to keep scout allways i just get so frustrated when i kill a monster and cant get anything out of it, so scout and harvest keeps my interest going...

Terrain navigation is still important, especially for a melee template to prevent kiting in hilly terrain. You would be unable to support others well while fighting in places like dathomir. On flat ground, I think you are right though. I'm trying to hold on to 1-0-0-0 scout if I possibly can.

If you are trying to stack Counterattack, don't bother, it caps at +125

Of course that is still a nice template, but I would think about TKA/Fencer as well.

Definitely check out the STICKY posts and the soon to be Carbineer FAQ {hint, hint, hint, Nova }

I have played something similar to this template since I started in this game. As far as tactics go, I find myself frequently switching between sword and carbine depending on what my opponent does. I barely have enough room on the toolbar for 2H sword, carbine, medic, brawler, and marksmanspecials (hehe).

Knockdowns seem to be working. Chargeshot1 is great against NPCs. Chargeshot2 seems to only work against things that have aggro'ed you (not a very good opening attack, but works well after the battle is well under way).
