Thread: Want to master carbineer fast? Here's how:
Step 1: get a fast mount (fastest for non-ch is a kaadu)
Step 2: get a decent laser and ee3 carbine
Step 3: go to dant and hunt for either kunga or mokk spawns, hop on your mount and take potshots at em while circling - npcs aren't fast enough to catch you while mounted so as long as you don't run into a tree or something you can do this with impugnity.. eventually the npcs will get tired and stop running after you, when this happens get off your mount and start busting out the specials - easy 4k xp per npc
this also works on pikets (most of the time lol)
The easiest way is just to group, the bigger the group the better, even if you are being outdamaged you will be killing creatures all the faster and getting more xp.
Well, I am doing this now.
Wear an advanced compostie suit, get doctor buff and have some mind food and drink and muon gold for emergencies and kill savage quenkers, (3.2k each and they die fast) Huurton Howlers give 3.5k but are harder to kill. You can tackle about 3 at a time with bleed and leg shot. You will eventually begin stacking the bleeds and getting better leg shots, like leg shot 3.
Seems to work for me. I was an apprentice yesterday, today I am 1/2/0/1

i masterd carbineer in 16 hours of playing at the tusken fort, lol
There is no way that is possibly true. I've been there for about a week and I got carbine 1-4 and just now marksmanship 1. Unless your carbine is the best carbine EVER made then this is a complete lie.
If you're not using Doctor buffs, you're doing it the slow way.
Okay here are some suggestions for getting the fastest Carbine XP now it depends on what level you are in the profession.
Marksman Tree levels 1-4
Beg, steal, Buy, Borrow etc A Good Carbine, sliced and find Powerups, I cant stress the powerups! why because when your fighting stuff between these levels the powerups make the biggest difference. Keep upgrading until you reach level 3 in carbines and can get the almighty laser carbine, Again get the best one you can and get lots of powerups.
Places to hunt? obviously level 1 right outside the starter town level 2 and upstart doing those lairs you're gonna need cash pretty fast
Novice Carbineer
OH GOD now the grind begins.
Okay by now you have useful things like lets see Actionshot 1, auto single 1 legshot 2
Group, group group cause if your not grouped and the mobs are hitting you, you cant afford to use your specials because your going to need the ham to take the hits. If the mobs are hitting your group members then you can use your specials. Invest in novice Medic for stim B use, your gonna be using up your HAM at an insane rate. Have good Armour but dont really wear it, this reduces ham costs, just have it macro'd to go on when you need it, ie a mob turns on you.
Did I mention powerups? yup find powerups, find Food for action quickness and stamina, find spice like giggledust as a minimum try for booster blue.
Now you can use auto single 1 for longer durations and recover faster, this is what will get you the exp from the mobs since Mr. Pistola or BH or Commando will be blasting/roasting away all that juicy exp unless you dish out some damage. Legshot though decent damage does nowhere near as much as auto1
Now here is where you can go different routes my recommendation is like this
Lots of friends? IF so dont worry about any particular tree as much as getting your combat xp tree( Carbine Special Abilites)up, If you take each levels' boxes ie 1/1/1 guess what! you will have that last box in the Carbineer Special Abilites tree. why do this? Area Auto 1 and 2
Okay in a group, choose your location so that the cone covers as many targets as possible beware of unrelated mobs you might accidentally aggro) and let fly area auto fire Now this requires tactics, patience and of course the right weapons. Now everyone swears by the laser carbine for taking down solo targets but in this case dont bother, the damage is too random. Go for either a sliced e11 or sliced elite carbine (yes elite) both have at least light armour piercing the e11 fires faster for less ham but less damage, the elite provides very good damage at a a higher cost but I also find the elite is more accurate. You will rake up the xp! Its a little rough the first few times because you are hitting all the mobs and if they arent properly aggro'd to someone else guess who they are coming to.... Best used when someone sicks their pets on the lair first and leaves it on the lair. mobs almost always go for what is doing the damage to the lair. eventually you will learn the best time and place to start firing.
Dont forget the powerups!
I dont like people I prefer the darkness of my own soul...
Got no friends?
Alrighty, this will be where the marksmanship tree is your friend followed by speed, Get that crippling shot asap and keep the best **edit** laser carbine you can find around. Master the marksmanship then go for speed, the counterinsurgency tree doesnt really do squat for you versus NPC's and mobs (it does but not enough to notice) when you culminate your character to the level where it has chargeshot 1 and crippling shot your laughing. KD bleed, cripple shot, alternate the kd and crippleshot cause the charge shot does junk for damage remember I said medic? Yup your gonna need it cause crippling shot will suck your HAM, and you dont want to get one shot because you spammed yourself out of ham. Now remember bleed doesnt give you xp but it does help on larger mobs, getting too greedy for every last point of xp you can suck out of a mob generally leaves you dead
Obviously stick to planets where the mobs have either no energy resist or low resist, Higher the resist not only harder to kill but the resist also reduces the xp from the weapon by that amount. 0%=100% exp for damage done. ee3 is heat based, DXR6 is acid everything else is energy
Now Most times for powerups people go for Max damage increases
I recommend a ham reduction and min damage increase for a laser carbine myself
E11 and Elite, Max damage and Ham reduction
Lower End carbines like the DH17 and snub nose Min and Max damage increase
Finding a good provider can be tricky actually talk to a Master Artisan, they usually are not as busy as a weaponsmiths and with Engineering iv and Domestic Arts IV under their belts they can almost experiment the same level of Powerups if using decent materials. If you have to, go in on a factory with them so they can make you crates of your specified powerups get them to draft up the desired schematic, pay them for the production run and voila powerups for your specific weapons
Again find a good master chef, Go for foods with the high Action, Quickness and Stamina buffs, real shortage where I am so cant tell you the names of the foods but talking to a chef they can help you out. same as spice, Smugglers are dying to sell this stuff and it does work, you can use it two ways, before a lair fight or hotbar for emergency. Personally I take the food and spice before the lair battle, high end foods/spice will last between 400-600 seconds! rest after the fight is over or in a lull when you know your going to come down. For Spice, lower end smugglers make Giggledust pretty good, higher end stuff like booster blue is what you want! High end stuff, watch out for the downers ![]()
Overall fastest xp for a carbineer is Grouping, Powerups, Buffs and doing Area damage. Find the right mobs for your weapons and your set. Dont be the first to rush in, let the group take the aggro and support from your ideal range, take medic to heal yourself and stay stocked up on good stimb b's. Watch out for wandering mobs that your group doesnt want to tangle with when using your AoE. Flanking is usually the best position.
Now I know that these things generally apply to everyone but from personal experience the best thing for a carbineer is not to play like the other professions that charge in and go toe to toe with a mob. Leave that for the melee guys and short range guys. Know your weapons and their ranges, pistols generally are alot more forgiving then carbines, just because that BH can stand their at pointblank doesnt mean you should. (Unless they are aggro'd on you)

There is no way that is possibly true.

It probably is true.Remember that different servers seem to handle Fort Tusken very diffently -on one server I play on, there is almost never anyone there at all. On another, there is usually a small army of players camped in, so much so that people runaround looking for the Tuskens.
With a level 35 pet and doctor buffs I always go to lok get 2 missions and kill everything on the way out and on the way back I usualy stay away from the mynoks and kimos when im solo this will usualy bring in about 200k an hour more if you want to push it, the best guys I've found for xp are strong mercs and above and my favorit is the elder snorble's get between 5 and 6k from those.
Step 1 = Master Scout and Marksman...
Step 2 = Get BH carbine specialization 4...
Step 3 = spam full auto 2 on piket plains walkers...
Step 4 = Master Carbineer and never give up BH carb 4......
in all seriousness, you could get BH carbines and then Carbineer is A LOT faster due to the amount of speed you will have. I surrendered BH carb 4 after mastering carbineer and almost cried at how slow it was, then spent some money on a few skill attachments and it got a little better ![]()
