Thread: About the corvette quest and area attacks...

Most top level Carbineer skills are area of effect attacks. Im hearing horrible rumors that you cannot use area of effect attacks in this place due to mass aggro. If this is the case, whats the point of a Carbineer going there? All of our weaker state attacks rarely stick compared to the higher skill boxed ones. So did we just get nerfed or is it a stupid game bug?

That hurts rifleman more than anyone else actually. Since rifles only decent PvE attacks are AoE and if you use headshot your not working with the group. We have cripplingshot and FAS2

Haven't been to the Corvette yet and won't for quite some time, but if you can pull pets there then you can send them in and then use AoE attacks. This works for every PvE situation I run across.

You can pull pets, while there, AoE is not a good idea, you don't need more aggro than you already. Those Super Battle Droids you run into up there are pretty heavily armoured. 40% Acid and 40% Heat were the only 2 ways i can really hurting them. My DXR-6 came in handy for once lol. Still didn't manage to finish the quest though. We even had a jedi with us and were still having alot of trouble. The corvette is great, ingame content done right, Instanced and Hard as Nails

I did just fine on the Corvette. The first group of battle droids I used area attacks on while my group beat on them and healed etc. Had no problems with mass aggroing.

AOE attacks are bad m'kay.

You can use them up there.. but just have to be very careful. I pretty much felt useles, cuz my KD's barely if ever worked and I couldn't stack states with fullautosingle2 to save my life. I basically went into diversion mode, to try and draw aggro off the group while I ran around healing myself.

From last nights experience, I'd suggest you'd have an ignored pet and at least 3 annoyed NPC's with 50k ham, heavy armour and 80% resists hitting you for 400-1200 a pop (thats already accounting for your armour). Unless your pets got medium armour piecing their puny 10k HAM isnt worth worrying about. I watched the health bar of an AT-ST drop by half in seconds. It got put away 30 seconds later.

It's tough. It needs teamwork, and just spamming specials, especially area ones isnt going to work. But, its fun. Much fun.

Wait, did someone say this is a place where MBH's are useful??? FINALLY!!! Anyhoo, I might have to test this out. However, the part about massive armor decay worries me. I guess I just have to be REALLY prepared! I like your forum here; the BH forum is too upset these days. Thanks for the tips!
