The sooner everyone realizes that getting new guns or different specials aren't the way to make this class actually PvP worthy, the better. Why are we disregarding the overpowered armor and everything. If it wasn't for armor, there wouldn't be classes like TKM and Rifleman that people always complain about. Just trash com and keep everything else. We don't need a super armor at all. PSGs.. Scrap them too. Doc buffs, make them 500 - 600 only. Tired of people saying there isn't a end game either. The end game shouldn't be you soloing a Krayt Dragon. Krayts should only be done by a group of 10 atleast. 10 masters at that. I don't like the fact of my computer retarded friend getting on and not knowing what he is doing, still quad soloing 4 rancors. He didn't use any strategy, I just told him when you get low in health, press F7, when you want to shoot, just press F5 over and over. So for anyone that wants a new gun, they need to realize that it won't matter anyway, There is no type of damage that is uber over another. It is retarded when it fights can last a upwards of an hour. Dump comp, or make it where is only specializes in a certain field, not all of them. I'm tired of seeing everyone looking the same. Just like the people they cry about classes not being fair, the only class that wasn't fair was CM. That is fixed now that docs can take care of it. So no reason for complaining about that. No class rules another, gear rules other gear.

Hot damn, finally somebody that feels the same way i do. I totally agree with your armor idea, trash comp, or at least make it specialize in certain field. Armor is completely ruining pvp, if you dont believe this watch 2 tkm duel each other....we are talking about a duel that can last up to an hour, who the hell wants to see or participate in that?? Nowadays the only way to kill somebody is by mind, which is lame-@$$, and the only reason for that is cuz you cant get mind past 3k without ent buffs, and taking 2 brandy and a muon and/or PB i guess. Id like to actually see more of the other armor types...more bone..more padded, and hell even more Tantel and that other stuff that starts with a "M" lol. Bone can be great for energy resist, Padded blast and maybe kinetic...a balance, you get the picture. I just started carbineer and i like it so far, i dont see why all the "leets" say it sucks or whatever. It could use some fine tunning yea, but still a fun profession. And i know new weapons wont fix the armor problem, but i would still like to see more carbines, we have the fewest amount weapons among the ranged profs you know.

I still think the saddest thing is the buffs. That needs to be changed too. I know alot of people that feel the same as I do, but they won't do anything about it because it envolves thinking and work. The developers would rather make everyone on the server a jedi and make everyone happy. That isn't the way to go. I don't care about Jedis and would like to see them all gone. When there is only 400 Jedis on one server, that is a bit extreme. Developers will make every class stronger and stronger till it gets so out of hand that there will be nothing to do in the game besides kill each other which will take 5 hours to make one kill. It happened with Everquest, it WILL happen with this game. Just make it where everyone can do anything by themselves and it will be alright. In Everquest, me being a shaman, and my friend being a wizard level 65 with a bunch of AAs, could solo a level 70 mob. Not with ease, some major trial and error, Along with some evacs. I guess the developers didn't think in that game that they would create a loop for infinate mana for shamans. Developers screw up, then do nothing about it till you accept things the way they are. As for mods for PvP, they need to disappear. I want a fight to go to the person that shoots first, make it as realistic as possible. I don't want to get KDed, get up, KDed again, ETC. Just going through the same steps. Just punch me in the head and get it over with!

I liked one persons idea of each armour type specializing in a certain resist, secondarys capped. I believe in the post I read it in (forget where), it was suggested that all resists be capped at 25%, and then whatever type of dmg the armour was specializing in would go up to say 50%-60%. All armour types would be used again for different circumstances.

Armor and buffs and most everything elseare getting nerfed in the upcoming CB...this is old news.
And please, use the enter key from time to time. Paragraphs are your friends and make reading your posts MUCH easier.

Buffs are the real problem, take the 80% comp for example, the HAM encumberance on them is so high that most people can not wear a full suit. And, the ones who can have such low main bars they'd be dead in combat anyway. If you put on that suit unbuffed one or two specials will deplete your HAM, you have no regen due to the encumberance. Now add in a 2500 buff and everything works great. If they knock the buffs down to 700 or so then you will be about normal wearing one of these suits and buffed, with the protection of the armor. In my opinion, armor works the way it was intended, it is the buffs that are messing it up. now granted lower resistance on armor would be good too.

Yea i agree, encumb is a major problem. You cant go out hunting anymore without buffs pratically, cuz if you wear what armor you can, your subs are so low you cant really use skills or heal. Buffs need to take a hit as well, the other day my friend was using skills with a DX2, shes a master pistoleer, and the mind cost for fan shot and stopping shot was around -8. NEGATIVE! She had full buffs, canappe and brandy hits to max. Either nerf armor, or nerf buffs, either at the very least, both at best.

I agree buffs are the problem.
As for armor here is the fix. Max all armor resistant to all but light saber. Cap it at 50% on all stats
let the Armorsmith decide what the special resists are.
cutting it all to 25% and making each one resistant to one type of damage isn't going to work. to much variety of damage types and there wouldn't be a point to any armor then.

agreed, if you made special resists higher then the effectiveness could be sliced, what kind of weapon would you use in pvp. You would not know what they had protection against. It might make things alittle more fun trying to figure out your opponent. And you wouldn't be able to layer against everything so it would be more interesting in combat. And if a flavor of the month pvp class changes the armor can be changed to counter them to keep everything on a equal level. Sounds good in theory i think.

See, this I don't believe for a second.
All they had to do is check what resources were needed for each schematic, and plug in the maximum possible values. They could *instantly* check what the best stats on any weapon is.
Just like we can do using (for weaponsmiths, for example) Fooman's Tool.

Anyone else miss non solo groups? Getting massive groups to go to Endor because you got freaked if you split up you would get massacred? Where everything had a place. Spice and Food both had uses, the game was more complex, needed more strategy rather than:
Get comp, buff, brandy, spam special. You win.
