How's carbine for pvp, and what if you combine it with BH carb line? Is there a better combo for carb?

I fought with a master crabinner that had the BH carbine tree. He was a total owner. He never needed more than 2-5 secs for anyone. He killed a atst owner(atst has following the imps like 10 meters behind) befor the atst came in range. If you have a good weapon you can spam cribbilng shots like crazy, Master commandos and BHs, he killed them all. If it would cost me my master droid eng i would do definatly that.

I was hitting over 200 sometimes, a few times over 500, in pvp yesterday with my laser. Leg shot 2 did the 500 and burst shot 1 did the 200... never eralized how effective they were....

Forcarbineers who don'thave the highlevel carbineer skills and the BH carbine tree, carbine can bedifficult in PvP if your opponent is buffed and/or healing themselves. Sometimes you have to rely on a random-pool attack like fullautosingle2 or burstshot1 and hope for mind damage, which can take some time to occur.

If you have the high end shots that are part of the Carbineer tree, stick with a DH17, lead off with ActionShots until you get the bleed and then lay on the Legshot2's or 3's. Once you get up to CripplingShot, pretty much drop anything else and blast away. Keep in mind, with the multipliers for the high end shots and with a decent slicer, you can take a mid-range carbine and make it something respectable for PvP. The key to PvP is not so much the damage you do to your opponent, its the damage you do to yourself. I have a sweet laser carbine that is right now collecting dust in my inventory. The HAM costs on it are just too damned high for PvP use and pretty much PvE unless I am grouped with a medic. I am a medic myself, but having to ease off the firepower to drop a stim in a pitched fight is a free ticket back to town through the cloning center. Its all about the balance of damage output to damage input.

It's funny... on the pistol boards they say pistol sucks. On these boards some say carbineer is worse, others say it's better. I guess it boils down to taste...

What about carbineed WITHOUT the BH line? I don't want to use all those points in scouting.

Carbine right now in PvP is about the same as a pistol, but it's best used at a good amount of range. From my exp we're good at keep charging commando's at range. As far as the BH line is concern'd, it just makes us more accurate and fire like crazy. I personally had to give up BH because I found combat a bit lacking atm and took up Bio-Engineering. Even as I did this, I"M still able to hold my own against any master commando

I use tatoonien sunburn to get the HAM costs under control. For PVP i would say i win against 90% of all pisoleers and rifelman. (i got 1,3,1,2 so far). If i am not prepared i loose to a BH in 80% of all fights because he has a mind shot that is too fast for me.

well im a carbineer/swordsman/doctor and ive won my last 9!! ONE ON ONE encounters.
several bh's and commandoes were in that mix too. ive personally never had so much fun when it came to pvp until i got charge shot. this is how pvp goes on a normal 1 on 1 encounter since i got charge shot: charge shot charge shot charge shot charge shot (incase i miss, but so far i have found that i almost always hit with my first shot) while im am of course charging him, whip out my power hammer, mind bleed 1, switch to cleaver, head hit2 until he gets up and then i run.

if hes not already dead hes dead in 5 seconds, or 10 at the most. i suffer high ham damage, but i can keep myself alive, and soon ill be able to buff, and hams wont be as much of a problem.

also i am mainly a swordsman, and only carbineer 0-0-0-2, and novice doctor, but i plan on picking up more carbine skills, i just gotta surrender some scout. i have enuf carbine xp to fill up alomst 2 boxes, but what ever.

im not saying im uber, i will be beaten one on one sometime soon probly, but i think ill be a lot better off as a swordsman carbineer than just pure melee with advanced scout.

btw i used to be rifleman/swoerdsman, ch/rifleman/swordsman, and then decided i needed a ranged kd more than anything else, so i went carbine.

Can't say about PvP, but my DH17 with a damage powerup is capable of dishing out over 700 damage in one shot (fullAuto1). and I rarely shoot for under 150~200 normally.
I managed to take down a red con 'Valerias Assassin (On Tatooine)' (~3500 HAM) and still had ~1/4 HAM left when I finished, and I'm only at Carbines2 in Markman...

In PVP the Damage is reduced to 25% of the the PVE damage. So your 150-200 will be reduced to 40-50 and if someone wears a composite you will makeno more than 20-30 because the dh17 has no armorpiercing. I only use my dh17 for KD and fullauto. Then change to laser and do some cribbling shots. They hit for up to 500-600 in PVP (3600 in PVE).
