Thread: How to fix the elite
Remove specific resource requirements - and do it to ALL guns. Yes ALL guns. T21s, DX2's everyones.
And by thisI dont mean a specific class of resource - thats ok still. I mean make it so no guns require a specificly named resource. Such as "XXX iron" must be used to make the gun.
First of all - there is already precedence for this. Commando weapons had their specific resource requirments removed, because commandos complained it was too hard to find/make their guns. Well thats great. However that creates an unfair situation where weaponsmiths can pick and choose the best resources to make a gun, while they can ONLY use a specific resource in say a T21 or Elite.
The odds of 1 resource spawning with good qualites is very rare. Indeed even the CHANCE of that resource spawning seems rare. Elites just became available on Starstrider. It took, what2 month? Or however longer this game has been out. Commandos weapons are too hard to come by, but no one cares that the best carbine I had for the first like 3-4 weeks of the game was an E11/EE3 carbine?
Howver the odds of a resource withen a category spawning with decent/good resources is much higher, because you have a variety of resources to choose from. As well, this would ensure that even if the guns did suck, they could still be made, unlike now where there are periods in which guns can't be produced.
I'm fairly sure if weaponsmiths had a little more flexibility in what resource they could choose - even if it is still limited to a narrowed category such as "aluminum" or such, that guns that require specific resources would be made at much higher quality levels than seen before.
This cant be a hard change to do - they already did it with commando guns.
