Awhile back a friend of mine gave me a, "Carbine Speed 9" Enchancement attachement. I figure it is for Armor, but i have yet to find any slotted pieces.

Can anyone tell me what is up with this?

without knowing for sure, I think you need to get a hold of an armorsmith.

I'm pretty sure those attachments are added in the crafting process, I'm not sure if they fit where the normal segments should have been thus reducing your resists on that part of the armor, or if they go into an optional slot letting you have the enhancement without any loss to your resists.

But if you get an armorpiece crafted please report back if it worked, and how the armor turned out. Or if you are on starsider gimme a tell I'd like to buy it if you aren't going to use it

Oh btw where did he find it? the attachment that is

Actually I think your in luck, the patch on TC atm is supposed to fix all these enhancements. At least one fix less you have to wait for

Since this is a skill enhancement post, anyone ever seen carbine enhancements as clothing tapes?

Yeah, I have several clothing carbine enhancements. They do work, you just have to take off the clothing before you log out, then when you log in the next day, put the clothing back on. Of course, I'm trandoshan and I wear armor, so I can only wear two pieces of clothing with my armor. A shirt and a belt. Also, if you put two clothing tapes with the same type of enhancement into one piece of clothing, it still takes up two slots but only gives you the higher of the two ratings. So, for me, the key was to put 1 piece of Carbine Accuracy into a belt, another in a shirt. 1 Tape of carbine speed into the belt, another to the shirt. etc etc etc

Does carbine speed -1 mean I lose a whole second, or just a -1? Cause I have that attachment, and I think it is for armor. May put it into a belt, so I can wear with no encumberance.

There's two kinds of attachments...the skill tape (looks kinda like a roll of scotch tape) and the plate (looks like a segment of bone armor if you know what that looks like; if you don't, it's roughly rectangular with some raised parts on one side, flat on the other). Anyways, the tape goes in slotted clothes and the plate into slotted armor, both of which need to be made by tailors or armorsmiths, respectively. As to its effect, I always assumed that the +1 or whatever isn't on the physical speed, it's an addition to that skill...so Carbine Speed (or whatever) +1 means you'll get a +1 to your Carbine Skill speed...meaning if you had +50 you'll have +51 (yay).

Ok, all this leads to the next question....

Where are these found? So far I've seen them drop from humanoid mobs, but can't say its a good drop rate, so I was wondering if there any mobs out there that drops these skill enhancers at a decent rate. Heard something about dark jedi's - any other?
