it's reported to have a 7.56x multiplier...

But [of course] in the team game of course, we know this to be either yet another lie or it's busted. it does less damage than burst shot 1 in most instances.

I don't beleave that you use crippling shot. If you did you would know that it does A LOT more damage the burst shot 1.

He probably is basing it off one shot with a laser carb. The CS being with low damage range and the BS being in the high damage range.

If you're talking about the rifleman skill strafeshot 2,it seems to have a multiplier of 5.

Last Ditch is the most powerful damage multiplier in the game. 6x from my parsing.

Strafe2, crippling shot and stopping shot all have multipliers of 5x. The multiplier is NOT against the listed damage, but against autofire. There's an inherent 1.5x multiplier on all attacks; that's where the 7.5x figure comes from (5x1.5 = 7.5).

I've been wondering about your posts on that for a while, does it actually make a difference which way you calculate it? I've always found it easier to just use the gun damage as the base for all attacks and think that normal attacks have their own multiplier Less confusing to me at least

The devs use 5.0 for stopping shot, just as most of us do, so I'd think that's the way to go.

The 1.5x is suspected to be applied to all attacks before the special kicks in. If it changes, we won't have to re-do our numbers

It's not too important which you use, as long as you are consistent, but the 'convention' is to treat autofire as 1.0x multiplier (which seems to make sense). It's probably more 'correct' in any case to treat autofire as the base damage rather than list, since listed damage is less 'real' than the damage you do with autofire (if the listed damage was 1-1, but the weapon hit with autofire for 500-1000, would it be reasonable to state the 'normal' damage to be 1-1?). It just happens that the relationship between autofire and list damage is 1.5x.

I haven't found crippling shot to be better then burst shot 1. Sometimes it will hit for more, sometimes for less .. though crippling shot is noticably slower, but with a smaller HAM cost. I thought it was supposed to be much more damaging then burst shot 1 .. right now it's not much damaging very often, and when it is, it's for small amounts. This is with four different carbines (ee3, e11, elite, and laser), and over many different shots.

Crippling shot does huge dmg compared to burst one - and even bigger than burst 2. You cannot reliable compare these specials by looking at dmg done by a laser weapon. The range is too great. An e11 is a pretty good choice if you want to make comparisons and a dh17 isn't bad either. But if your dh17 is really well made, even that can have to high a variance.
