Carbineer Archive
Thread: OK. Can we at a MINIMUM get an Approximate timeframe as to when our class will see fixes ? Plz
I know the devs are busy.
BUT !!
Can we not get an approx. timeframe as to when our class will be getting fixes??
October ?
November?
Christmas ???
Not asking for a commitment. Just an approximation.
PLEASE !!!
Probably never. They have introduced almost no changes since launch to address problems with carbineers that have been known since day 1(such as HAM).
Frankly I've just accepted our broken class and try to figure our ways to overcome it. It's sad that I should have to be content with a extremely broken profession, but hey, what else can I do? Become a Bounty Hunter/Commando like everyone else? No thanks.
To date the only changes I know that were geared towards carbineers was changing the stock requirement on the DH17, and "fixing" chargeshot2 to work on a cone effect(which, ironically enough, it still doesnt).
My advice is unless you are already pretty far into the profession, just leave it. Otherwise it could be when the Space expansions coming out, and everyone is fighting in space, that they finally decide to fix our HAM issues, at which point it wont even matter ![]()
If i know sony.. [and i think i do]
Four years. Well at least until they fix everything else.. screw that up too, then really "fix" it to where we're all running around with mittons swinging plastic bats at each other...
But HEY at least then bountyhunters won't accidentally lose TEF on an NPC mission mob if he meets all 32 criteria for it to happen! And I mean hey.. that's what it's all about right?
WHEW!
<Patch notes for 11.01.03>
Holocon: Okay... we realy have no idea how to fix factory crates so we're giving up ;;fart;;
Comandos now have an ability called HEAD EXPLODY that expends 1 mind point, and causes everybody in the zone, friend or foe, to suffer a brain explosion, leaving brain matter and sinew all over the zone. In addition this brain matter will be on fire, igniting everyone up to a three planet away distance, and permanently poisoning their minds.
Players afflicted by explody will have the option of paying for three more years of the game, or deleting their characters. We've done this due to the cries that commando's were overpowered and hey... we wanna be fair right? We read the forums and we've heard your cries...
Carbineer: Due to [certain] people whining about the typos in "carbineer", we've renamed the four branches, "**edit** / Sissy / Whiner / Suicidal Person". We've also taken steps to balance the resource deposits on the habitable planets by creating a really cool effect, that when a weaponsmith completes creation of any sort of carbine, they are immediately punished with a loss of 1,000,000 credits to their bank, as well as adding the word "**edit**" in place of every third word in the description of every weapon they make there-on out. Still no ETA on fixing carbineers specials as the new season ofTelletubbies just started.
Combat Medic and Chef: Since I personally decided to switch playing from combat medic to chef, combat medics are now two feet tall, carry the title "Bile Drenched Combat Medic" at all times, and puke nonstop. Chefs however get to make a pie that they can hurl at enemies, causing otherwise irreperable mind bleeding and brain damage that can only be healed by a master dancer. Doctors seen asking "Okay... why the **edit** can't i heal a headwound?" will be permanently banned as it violates the eula in pointing out our rediculous thinking.
Squad Leader: The squad leader is a potent enemy against one's friends as we've changed his quite frankly pathetic abilities to powerful ones. Now instead of boosting his teamates mellee and ranged defenses by, all teamates grouped with a squad leader, or those found to harbor or conspire with squad leaders will be punished with a -50 melle and -200 ranged defense modifier. [This fix however is bugged. We're working on getting it fixed to reflect the accurate suckage of squad leaders]. In addition, the "volley fire" ability has been modified to reflect it's true usage [as has been observed in the field], from forcing the team of which the squad leader commands to concentrate all fire on his target, to forcing all enemies withint a 3Km area to instantly unload apon him. Upon clone activation, the squad leader will now only be TEF to his own teamates.
Tailor: You know what, SCREW YOU GUYS! You're always whining about "wah wah socketed clothing is useless because the modifiers do nothing!", well guess what, the title tailor has been changed to "Nancy Boy"!
Creature Hander: /shrug
AT-STs: We were planning on making these radio controlled pets the size of toy carswith the average lifespan of a kotor member in a raid, but Geoge Lucas [Curse you Lucas!] mentioned something about "sueing us" so we had to obey our dark master.
SERVER Stability: We've upgraded the Scylla Server from a top of the line Dellnotebook to a 386!
I dunno.. you think that's going too far?
Draceis exaggerating obviously, but isnt far off.
Basically I think it comes down to popularity of classes. Look at all the fixes for popular classes as opposed to non-popular ones. As well, it has to do with public outcry. No one seems to give a flying bantha poo about carbineers, so we get no changes.
They'll keep fixing bounty hunters and commandos, why? Because I swear they comprise 90% of the servers.
Ask yourself how many carbineers you know on your server. Then ask yourself how many Masters there are. I know about maybe 10 carbineers. 2 masters(and I'm almost master).
Now think about how many bounty hunters/commandos/CH's you know. I think we represent .0001% of server population.
I advise everyone to go ingame and use the /bug command and just do it over and over and over with every single thing that is broken with us. I'm sure they read those, unlike this board.
I find it rather lame that we cannot be provided an vague eta on a fix.
Like.. 2003 or 2004 ?
For starters.
Well they did say player cities are next, then followed by CH mounts, then I guess vehicles. So maybe next year, but then they are prolly working on space expansion, and when that comes out they'll have plenty of other things to do.
Well maybe in SWG 2: The revenge of the Carbineer ![]()
Idea, surrender carbineer and take up dancer/chef. Then we will all meet somewhere probably rori and we will all dance/make food for a day or two. I doubt this will solve the carbineers problems, or even send a message but I just think it would be awesome.
I can outdamage groups of 10 pistoleers without any problems if I have a 1k buff to any of the green stats.
I'm a 4413 Carbineer, loving it!
I'm not giving up on Carbineer... They aren't completely worthless...
I'm giving up on the Sony Development Team... Now those guys on the other hand...
