Carbineer Archive

Hello Carbineers! I'm hoping to get some advice from people experienced with this profession. I want to dabble in Carbineer with my character and I would like to find out which parts of Carbineer are the best.

My plan for my character is togain the Carbine tree from BH and part of the Carbineer profession. It's actually possible to get the BH Carbine tree and Master Carbineer with 13 points to spare, but I want to get a tree or two in Ranger as well.

So, my question is this:

With this BH Carbine/Carbineer hybrid in mind, if I were to choose only two ( or maybe two and half ) trees from the Carbineer profession, which ones should I go for and why?

Most people that make hybrids get the 4 boxes of carbine from bounty hunter and the 3 boxes from the marksman line in carbineer. This gives all the speed of BH (+85), the BH knockdowns, Crippleshot (most damaging carbine shot), Legshot3, Actionshot2 and fullautosingle2.

This build is what I have and is tremendously effective at both PvP and PvE. It's also incredibly boring...you basically only need4 specials on your toolbar...Fireknockdown (knockdown), Crippleshot (BIG damage - random pool), Legshot3 (action damage on the odd chance the target is low in action) and Actionshot (more for the posture change than the bleed...most targets are death from health so an action bleed is a wasted special).

I was a Master Carbineer but backed off to the above build because +speed rules this game. When/if they ever make Master Carbineer worth it I'll dump BH in a second (I hate getting grouped in with all the boba fett wannabes)

novamarine - agreed on the whole BH thing, I don't plan on telling anyone I'm a BH. Initially, my plan was to go Carbineer/Ranger with no intention of gaining the BH carbine tree, butwhen you cangain +50 speed/+50 accuracy plus some nice specialsfrom a single tree, it's hard to pass it up.

I am a BH/Carbineer/Ranger/Medic right now and I love my build.

Ranger 0040 (the only useful Ranger line), BH 0400, Carbineer 0300 and Medic 4030.

This gives me all the above carbineer and BH skills...plus use of the basic ranger camp (0.85 healing), +90 creature harvesting, the awesome tracking skills and awesome healing with StimCs (currently using a crate of StimCs at 567 power).

I play my character as a Ranger actually...and I wear my Hunt Master title. I sell tons of wooly hides and herbivore/avian meats (I never pay for meds...I trade meat for crates of meds). However,this build has rather substantial PvP abilities mostly because of the BH skills. I never actively PvP though it is just not my thing. However, when the k00l d00ds show up and start challenging everyone to a duel, I do accept and put them in their place. Most people think my character is a simple hunter....hehehe.

Well, I'm hybrid also.... I had marksman4, but then I didn't have any AP to master carbineer... I capped at 900k carbine exp so I surrendered marksman4 and got bh carbine 4... it gives +10 speed... I'm just gonna wait till I get enough Ap to get master carbineer... cause I only have 1 kill point.

Master Carbiner/Bh Carbine3/novice medic.... trust me, you meed novice medic.
