I was thinking. And I thought of this 
I think it would be more appealing and Star-Warsy if the name of the Carbineer Profession was changed to the Mercenary Profession. The name alone is cool. "Mercenary" Hmmm.
In more mays than one, this would help. We'd still use Carbines specifically, and we'd have the same attacks. The name alone would make more sense than Carbineer.
But anyway, thats all besides the point. What do you think? I mean, I'd rather have "Master Mercenary" over my head than "Master Carbineer"!

What do carbine's have to do with Mercenaries? short of the title we recieve? Mercenary may have been an interesting class but i hardly think carbines fit the role. Go be a BH if you want to hunt down things and dabble into the carb assualt tactics tree and get the Merc title.

um, most of those perks you're looking for fall under smuggler (slicing the mission terminal, buying/selling fp to change sides quickly) and you can already wear Mercenary over your head. I'm not sure I understand your goal.

isnt mercenary a title you get in carbineer? wont the proposed idea be mixing carbineer and smuggler together? if thats it, then you all ready have your wish.

well i originally meant just switch the names around..i.e. Master Carbineer to Master Mercenary, and change the profession name to Mercenary instead of Carbineer. Thats all. That other stuff was just ranting, no real need for that stuff at all. I mean, being a Mercenary just sounds better than Carbineer. No big deal if it isn't changed.

I suggest reading "Blaze of Glory", a short Star Wars story published in Star Wars: Tales of the Empire. Its about mercenaries.
If you've read it, you'd see that these mercenaries fight for whomever pays the most. If the Empire wants a rogue Rebel cell gone, they get it done. If the Rebellion wants a certain Imperial official killed, they get it done.
But anyway, thats all besides the point. What do you think? I mean, I'd rather have "Master Mercenary" over my head than "Master Carbineer"!
And, if you do change it, maybe we can make it have a Mercenary typeof feeling, like a slight percentage increase in mission payouts, and the ability to be part of multiple factions at the same time. Even have a mission terminal to give out Seek and Destroy missions and other 'mercenary' type things.
