I am looking for a ranged profesion to dabble in.
i heard that going 4-0-3-4 in riflemen is worthless, and that ishould go pistols or carb.
I am a novice Doc and a TKM
my question is, can i dabble in carb? do carbs have a mind hit per se?
The boards have pple that really like/hate carb... i think i might drop medic down and master riflemen
Only problem... im a trando, and cap at 1k mind. I have tons of mind buffs though...
Please advise.. id rather not waste a lot of time on a temp that does not work

Dabbling is carbines would not be to your advantage, really. The slow speed is a turn-off to most.
Try pistols, and go for the Tech/Abilities line (defense+shots/speed)
Also, no mind hits.

problem w/ carb is our defenses are *ss...but, the ranged knockdown or dizzy/posture(down) would be a welcome thing to ANY melee'er who knows what it's like to run around after a kiting player or creature.
guess the main question is...do you want offense (quick carb hitting w/ ranged states) or defense (pistols to do moderate dmg while you try to catch them for the TKM beat-down and high defenses)?

I'm pretty much trying to go for the same thing, (only Fencer) what would be the best use of the points just to KD those kiters? I was thinking 4-4-0-3 or 4-0-3-4 or something like that, what do you guys think?

Rifles or Pistols are still better to dabble in than carbines.........................................
and even at Master.. Rifles get a better AoE attack than carbines do................

Yeah but that's why I don't want them, maybe I will just master Carbineer and drop from novice doctor then. It's just they are so much cooler than Pistols or Rifles, and I only want them to KD kiters or to have another damage type against high kinetic resist enemies in the tkas case.
