I think I have an ADK coming next time I get a vet reward andI was thinking it might be worth it to put it in my carbine.
Stats are:
- It's got a 4% damage slice for a max of 983
- 2.82 attack speed
- 17 accuracy
- 18.4% wound
- 307 DPS
And my favorite part:
- 73 SAC
It was a gift from a guildie. I currently have a damage power up in it that's taken the max damage to 1133. If the capped damage on this type of carb is 1036 (?) how will adding this powerup affect it?
I'm also planning to get it sliced again for an 8% damage slice which I believe will bring it up to 1018 w/o a powerup (if my math is right and I understand slicing properly). Then I want to getalevel 1 speed slice and a level 1 critical slice (in the hopes that some day it will be fixed). That will give me 100% customization. Is this carb worth it to put a 10million credit ADK in there? I've only had it for a few weeks and I'm down to 549/835 on the condition (these decay WAY to fast.)

Always, if an ADK is available or set aside for such purposes, ADK your best weapon.
Period.
Find one better later on? Destroy the ADK'd weapon, and you get your kit back.

Yea you're right. Can't believe I didn't realize the high speed before... talk about a bubble bursting. hehe. Looks like I'm going to have to dump all the remaining slicing customization into the speed instead of the damage like I planned to do. I'll just stick with powerups for now.
What's the deal with the power up situation I have? If the max damage a carb can do is say 1063 and the PUP brings it up to 1133 how does that affect the damage it can do?

Just on a side note, regarding damage slices:
Your damage sliced depends on the min. damage of the weapon.
So if you slice your weapon with an 8% damage slice you get 8% of the min damage of your weapon added to your max damage.

If you can find someone who is a 14pt Artisan and actually knows how to craft powerups, then powerups are pretty damn nice these days. Sadly, the majority of the pups I see for sale are trash. Luckily I have a good supplier and I never, ever, use a weapon without a pup now.
My favorite pups are SAC or damage. You might be in the market for a speed pup with that thing though. Typically speed pups make your DPS look huge, but in the end arent the best option unless the carb is extremely slow or the user doesnt have much speed in their template. I have a ton of speed SEAs, and several damage capped carbines so I usually use SAC pups myself. Being able to fire specials continuously and not worry about action is a lifesaver.
I would try out speed, damage, and SAC pups and see which ones you like the most. If the Artisan making them knows anything at all and is a 14pter, then the benefit on the pups will far outweight the negative effects.

I crafted several Elite Carbs last nite, with a 33% dmg pup, 80% customization 8% dmg slice it has a max dmg of 1006 and 2.3 speed. Gonna get the last slice when I get another component for our smuggler to do it. Helped that I had some really nice looted stocks/scopes with a 38 accuracy bonus on the scope.

The 1063 max damage cap is on the weaponsmith crafting process. Pups are not effected by this cap.

Yea, this I'm aware of. I calculated what I believe the original dmg to be and I think it was 943. I really can't complain about this carb since it was free and I'm having a hard time finding something similar on my galaxy with as high damage and low SAC (at a reasonable cost).
Would it be a good idea to use up as much customization as I can on the speed and then keep using these particular PUPs on damage to keep it around 1133? I bought a whole ton of cases of these because of the current way PUPs automatically default to 500 uses and they were very cheap (around 100 credits per case).
As far as SAC PUPs I'm not really inclinded to use them right now. I was solo'ing some higher level NPCs today and didn't run out of action once. I've become addicted to blob candy.
Thanks to everyone who responded the info has been useful.
