Thread: What do you think of ***Pikeman/Carbineer combo***

hey i was wondering what you guys thought of a PIKEMAN/CARBINEER profession hybrid or if
a bounty hunter would go better with being a pikeman, all i kno bout bounty hunters is thateven though you get lots of money, you also spend lots of it on supplies and maintenance.....i was just wonderin what you guys thought or if another profession woudl go nicely with being pikeman considerin you don't see too many.....i feel my inspiration too becoming one was because of grievous cool guards who wielded them.....

The problem with mixing a melee and a ranged profession is that you might as well only be one profession in combat, half your specials wont work when you've got one weapon equipped and your accuracy and speed mods are spread out over melee and ranged.

I know some people who fare pretty well with TKA / Carbineer.
The mentioned Pikeman / Carbineer combo sounds pretty weird to me, but i guess it's not a conceptual flaw but rather the fact that nobody else i know ever came to the idea to try it.
You'll sure have the drawback, like already mentioned before me, that you'll have only mediocre accuracy and speed in both melee and ranged, so i can't say how it'll actually perform. I assume you either have to take the risk and try, or forget about the idea, there won't be many people able to give you a report on this combination.

thanks for ur input, i have to agree with what you say, thing is what me is that i was thinking of going bounty hunter but i hate pistols so much, not stylish to me or powerful, and rifles, well,,,,not as effective at closer ranges so thats where teh carbineer comes into play for me.....i was going for Teras kasi artist, but too many people are that, plus they don' t wield weapons as good looking as those of swordsman, pikeman etc.....grievious guards like i said before styled the pikes which is a major reason why im giong with that......im very in deciseful so thats why im tryin a combo of ranged and melee profession, this way i won't have to worry bout that.....
plus i figure if there is a group of guys some distance away i kno i get slaughtered by if i moved close, thats where carbineer comes into play, this way i can attackone at a time, unless they all a charge at me, in which case i should have time to clear out before they get close enough....thats my reasoning for why im going to try this.....
however the idea of hunting dark jedi is appealing, but prob take too much work for someone like me, in which case i like to let my foes fall into my lap.......
ill try postin this on teh pikeman messsage board and see what they think
