Thread: Carbines and PvP

I've been a carbineer from day one, and only recently have my skills given me the power to kill things which allowed me to get loot that afforded me enough money to buy some decent firearms and suddenyl I find that I'm sort of a badass. I used to avoid PvP since evan as an almost-MBH with a pantload of extra carbine skills I'd get slaughtered, but I was out hunting Janta the other day and discovered that they were no longer a problem. I can lay bleeds on the entire lot of them and then take them out in a few shots apiece. Most of them don't even get a chance to poke at my beautiful rodian face with their crude stone knives.

Anyway, some mouthy commando in composite comes up and starts harassing my hunting party for riding mounts(?) and then kills a few of our Jantas. After a few minutes he starts giving me guff for being short (I'm pretty bloody tall for a rodian) and telling me that he'll kick my butt and that he's a commando/tka and I'l never beat him. I decide to take the clone express back to the mining outpost and I hit "duel". Somehow, two seconds later he's on the ground dizzy and bleeding. I realize that I'm on fire, but I may actually win this thing. I whip out my tangle pistol (I may be the only guy in the Galaxy who actually uses a tangle pistol) and pop him in the head until he stops moving. And man did that feel good. Then I ran and jumped in a lake.

So now I'm thinking about taking my act on the road. My main gun is a fairly nice non-krayt laser carbine. With cripple shot I can lay out all but the toughest prey in a matter of seconds. But is the laser useless in PvP? I hear a lot of people use the DXR6 for the acid damage and the tight range, but does that really beat the laser carbine's armor piercing? It seems like the laser carbine would do a much better job hacking through PSGs, but I really don't have any real world PvP experience to back it up. Any thoughts?

I have a DXR6, Elite, and Laser made with Imp Stocks and nearly identical Krayt Tissue. They also received similar slices and the end result is with NO PSG their DPS is equal within a few % with Mitigation 3. But once you add in the PSG the DXR6 really shines above all else.

And if you find a person without Ranged Mitigation or PSG, then definitely rip them with the Laser

I also carry a DH17 Short Carbine and Enhanced E11 for added flavor

The EE3 only comes into play in PvE really, but when facing a SpiderClan Elder it can be quite handy as that is the only weak spot on those biatches.

I have been Carbineer since Beta, and i've never had a Problem with PvP since i started.... i want to how ever point out that in the Start befor Buffs i had alot of Problems with TEF and a Bounty Hunter Rebel with Eye Shot who kept shooting us... but after a Few missions and enought Money to Buy Composit... i've never had any problems... With the Right Combos and food/SpiceCarbineer with Bounty Hunter Dabble is an Amazing Catagorie due to the Amazing Acc and Speed alot of other Carbineers seem to miss.... Its only reasonaly i got my Hands on 700 Damage Laser Carbs and 251 Fire Dot Carbs and 156 Poison Dot Carbs for HealthBut thats only Reasonaly as like 4 month ago... but befor that i showed every one that Carbineers was Highly Underrestermated.... I personaly never use any thing else but Laser Carbines but im how ever gonna look on the DXR6 to see if it can Match the Damage on some High Slice Laser Carbines (None Krayts) cause even with Standert Weapons i still experienced Insane Damage with Laser Carbines.

If you use your skills and foods correctly you can take out almost anyone, Know you weapons, your opponent and your weakness and enjoy the ride.

Also, when engaged in large scale battles, our areaattacks are second to none, Chargeshot2followed by Fullautoarea2 will do wonders when you are in a group.

The laser carb can be an awesome weapon of war. It's weak spot (well for me) has always been the extreme spread of damage between min and max.You can't count on it to deliver 100% of the time.Thats why I keep my DXR6's and eliteson hand.

But throw a stock and scope on a laser carbine and the devestation is unparalleled. That is devestation to myself without buffs. Wish they would fix that. I really do.

Laser Carbines are destruction against people without ranged mitigation. Just yesterday I nailed a KD'd melee stacker for 1.6k PvP damage (Before armor and stuff). And that was with my non-krayt laser.

Do alot of duels. You need to get a feel for how combat is. Don't hesitate to use your expensive PSGs and foods. You need practice knowing when to take what foods, what specials to use, ect. You need to memorize your toolbar without having to look up or look down at the keys.

Assuming they don't have 80% Comp and PSG.....nobody but Jedi can get through that 1-on-1.

Unless you are talking about DOT weapons, I have never had a solo non-CM or non-Jedi take me down thru my Comp/Buffs/Food/Defense Stacking. And it seems like 75%+ on Chilastra have as good or better Comp than I do.....hence I have PvP'd twice in the last 6 weeks.....
