Is carbineer/medical profession any good? I used to be a carbineer but dropped it for Fencer. At that time I didn't know about states that much. I would also like some suggestions on carbineer templates with master Carbineer and at least master medic.

I am a Masted Doctor and was wondering if Master Cabs/Master Doc is a good template to try out for PVE and a bit of PVP???

I used to be a Carbineer/Doc. While it was decently fun for PvE, its just kinda hard to PvP with it.You can stay alive for awhile with all of your cures, but your damage output is negligiable unless you have alot of speed tapes. Although you're basically immune to health and action damage and states, you wont have any kind of defense soyou'll get hit in the mind hard and often. If you're not going to get BH to augment Carbineer I'd suggest picking up some melee defenses. TAFirehawk is the expert on that.

I'm entering a duelling competition this week, and have dropped my stacked template, in favour of getting doctor skills. I do this only because i know that many of the high-end players in the competition will be using mind dot weapons (poison+fire) and i need to be able to cure them. Also, becase the rules state you can only have buffs/poison resists, if you have those skills in your template (ie you are doctor).

My normal template is:

M. Carbiner.

M. Fencer.

Pistoleer 0040.

Medic 0040.

Stacking the defenses really helps, and that level of medic can use stim E if they are experimented down (get yourself a 12pt doc as a friend).I'd probably suggest stacking defenses over going doctor, for general play; although normally any combat profession is fun when coupled with master doc.

For the most part, after a Doc buffs me, I have no use for healing abilities as a Defense Stacker In fact against most things I get hit so little that I don't need to be buffed except tospam Specials, but in unbuffed duels Novice Medic works fine.

But at the same time, as a Carbineer/Doc with plenty of Mind food/drink you will have little problem with no defenses. So personally I don't consider one much better than the other, it is all a matter of individual preference.

Yep, I'm Master Carbineer/Medic 0040/BH 0200/Master Marksman and using stim D's really helps a lot
