Thread: Best knockdown attack?

Well the most reliable knockdown for carbineers is.......


chargeshot1 for single targets


chargeshot2 for multiple targets


the others special are BH and I have no idea what those do

I have heard NO clear favorite on ANY ranged KD so we must assume they are all close in the % chance to KD.


Of course ChargeShot2 is in a league all its own with it being a Cone Effect KD

I did BH at one point and did Carbineer even before the patch that fixed most of there shots and Carbineers Charge Shots work more the BHs Underhand or fire Knockdown. Especially at master carbineer with the accuracy. I can't count how many times I was hunting with friend and she hit Charge Shot 2 and KD most of the targets.

My personal preference is to use Fire Knockdown for single targets in PvP, and CS2 for multiple targets. As far as accuracy, or "potency" of actually landing a KD, I can't really say any one is better that the others, though I have not really spent much time comparing them.


The biggest reason I like it is due to the fact that it can apply a dizzy. I'll usually try 1 or 2 Confusion Shots, then FireKD, then 1-3 FAS2s. I don't like to waste too much time try to land a dizzy state. Chances are, if I can't land it in 3 shots, then my opponent's Def vs. Dizzy is pretty high and I'm wasting my time. It's nice to get the dizzy/KD, but I don't waste my time trying over and over again.


Though I never really had a problem with the CS animations, I am finding FireKD's lack of that animation a bit nice. The fact that you can also fire it from kneeling or prone stances also adds a small bit to FireKD's favor.

I prefer Underhandshot. No silly animation and the dizzy from FireKD is kinda weak.

Im wonrdering which is the most reliable knockdown a carbineer can use:


Chargeshot 1?

Chargeshot 2?

Underhand shot?

Fire Knockdown?

Tested this last night, and the only thing im almost certain of, is if they have more than 70 def vs kd, none of them work heh.

like everyone else has been saying they are all pretty even, i use them all, if one fails i just use the next and hope it works, then back to the first, and they all work about the same.

Put a dizzy on them somehow, then:


Charge Shot 1 against ranged people


Fire KD (if you have it) against melee people

Try laying a stun state on them then test out the various KD. Against Janta shamans I have a hard time landing any of them but if I land a stun state they seem more susceptible to KD's even charge2.

if im fighting a target, and i fas2 them for a bit, and they are dizzied, stunned, and blinded. And i hit fkd, does that added dizzy add to the lasting effect of the dizziness? Also if you are fighting and you become posture changed, cs1/cs2 =no go. So undershot and fkd would still seem to triumph (damn bh specials and speed lol and accuracy.) in the end.

Underhand shot is the most powerful knockdown. The problem is that it doesn't land a dizzy with it. Fire knockdown cannot knockdown high end content what so ever, but the advantage is that against TKMs who didn't stack dizzy/KD defense you can win the fight in the first 2 seconds just by firing one fire KD. Then they say "OMG OMG REDUEL **edit**" and they eat thatakilo so you can't KD them. Basically carbineers win through surprise.
